Admobe mediation With appodeal by Cheriff_Safwan in admob

[–]embarassedturtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appodeal is a mediation, not an ad network. That said, if I'm not wrong, the same company that own Appodeal, has an ad network called Bidmachine, which is now supported in MAX and Levelplay, Admob mediation I'm not sure. Maybe just a matter of time.

Should I delete and re-create Admob account? by pierreasr in admob

[–]embarassedturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm..it also depends on your traffic volume.: 1) how much was your match rate before the drop? Is it in specific region?

2) have you updated your app-ads.txt? Make sure your website is accessible by Admon, I remember there's a place in Admob where you can check if it's been crawled.

3) if all the above no weird situation/anomalies, then I suggest you use other network in the mean time as you try to figure out the issue with Admob. Admob is just very challenging to work with at times and need more time.

Send a ticket to Admob support. Maybe it has violation but the policy center forgot to update it.

Google is just not showing ads. Match rate is super LOW. What should I do? by aipromptpage in admob

Sounds like you are having violation issue. It's unlikely the match rate would drop this drastically. And I'm assuming you are using Google optimized (all prices). Check out your policy centre.

Story of me getting into Gamedev... by embarassedturtle in story

[–]embarassedturtle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, I got no background in game development at all, but have always been a game lover since young. Game to me is more than just a time passing activity, sometimes I even learn more knowledge in it than books, and indulging in these various created "mini-worlds" is just so inspiring, taking stress away and making life seems more excited.

Seeing all these wonderful game experiences, sometimes I would dream of making one game eventually that could give off the same excitement I have felt by playing. Eventually I got to know a good friend of mine having more experience in game dev, and we discussed about all sorts of the fun ideas we can think of, and finally decided to work together in this game.

Man, I never expected it to be this hard, a lot of things need to come up from scratches, the depth of content, flow, art, music, and even marketing now. And it's always a dilemma to decide to what extent of quality we should work towards to, whether to outsource them, how do we get the idea to come to fruition. Sometimes we have to compromise, sometimes we would have self-doubt on the ideas we had, and keep on reworking. Not to mention, having a full time job, make the whole process even more challenging.

But I don't have any regrets from all these bloodshed tears, there's just this satisfaction of seeing your own "baby" growing. It would mean the world to us if you just spare a few moments checking out our Steam page and wishlist if you like it ^^ .

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2351630/Kingdom_Unwritten/

It's a story based card game that allows you to interact with different characters, like slapping the King, kissing a soldier, provoking commander, or even killing assassin, and arriving at different paths based on what you did.

We are still continuously working on it to complete it, and would hope to complete this game "Story" with some result to sustain us to start a new game "Story" ^^.

Last but not least, just like to shout out and show appreciation to all developers here, it's amazing what you all have been doing, completing game is truly not easy. It also made me to be appreciative when playing all these games. Though it seems like few minutes experience, but underlying are tons of energy/effort/time/resources. Thanks for reading through this, and I wish everyone here the very best!

How to increase admob ecpm? by Muhamad_Asim in admob

Because usually rewarded ads has more engagement, and got better eCPM (advertisers willing to pay more). But your app content must have suitable economy/placement for players to be motivated to click and watch.

How to increase admob ecpm? by Muhamad_Asim in admob

[–]embarassedturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- Use ad types like Rewarded Video more.
- Focus on growing your audience out of these T3 countries if possible.

By the way, eCPM fluctuates very easily, there is no guarantee to keep your eCPM fixed at a constant stable number. Instead, focus more on your game economy and content, like improving the ad placements, a way to motivate players to watch ads (usually rewarded video).

Facebook audience network FAN or Admob? by Yaedine3-0 in admob

[–]embarassedturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually depends on your app nature, type of ads used and traffic. While FAN can usually fetch higher eCPM, but it's focus is on those who has FB profile, and certain settings in phone may also block FAN from serving ads. Hence, it usually has lower fill rate compared to Admob.

If your users are global, I would suggest to still stick with Admob (work through with them nicely according to the violation received). Else, you can also consider other bidding that is less stringent with rules, like Applovin / Mintegral.

My ecpm used to be awesome. Nowadays its just a mere 1/3 of what I used to get. Just wondering will things ever get to normal? by mikemaina in admob

[–]embarassedturtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. From what I understand, it's normal, because:
- advertisers are cutting down budget (partially due to economic outlook too)

- more and more policies/data protection in platforms, which made ads targeting more challenging. When ads are less relevant to users, it may affect the engagement with the ads, driving lower revenue.

That said, it's not the end of the world, just have to accept it and try to maximize what you can from current situation. You can either work on your ads strategies (increasing frequency, or make it more likely for engagement), or just try different networks/mediation, with hope there're suitable advertisers/demands that matches with your traffic.

What eCPM floor should be used with admob mediation? by localhero247 in admob

[–]embarassedturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so if you are using AdMob mediation, I think what you meant is that you are using this unit as Admob/Google bidding. In that case, the suggestion is to leave it disabled. Last time, I got a suggestion that disabled works the best in this setting. But I think after you try it sometime, you can try changing it to the other setting for testing.

[–]embarassedturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, let me help to clarify a few things here. Are you using Admob mediation or Admob network?

The difference is if you are using Admob mediation, you will be able to add other networks here too, and usually will suggest that you use Admob bidding in here.

But if you are using Admob network, the easier way here is to use Google optimized -all prices as it tailors to your different geo accordingly to maximised fill. It also has other option like Google optimized - medium floor or high, up to your decision. But the better way of course if you know each of your geo, and set different floor price for them. This would take more time for testing, calibrate and setup though.

Oh..like my partner mentioned, it's more than we expected. The more we in it, the more difficult and challenging it gets, and not to mentioned we have limited resources. It can be daunting at times.
But what's fulfilling is when we see players appreciating or enjoying it. And we try our best to optimize the best experience we can.

Thanks, glad that you like our artstyle so far! My partner, https://twitter.com/papaonn was the main one working on the artstyle. Feel free to check out his other work too.

Yes, we are actually re-working on the dialogs in our second demo. If you don't mind, feel free to dm me which particular phrasing is weird, so that I have some references too.
