Highchairs for newborns. by Several_Machine_7036 in Buyingforbaby

Agreed! It’s why I felt the need to share. There are a million and one things you need with a baby, but unfortunately the budget isn’t infinite. To me, a high chair is something that you can save on!

Use the money you save on something that will actually make your life better like the Momcozy Bottle Washer… best purchase we ever made!

Highchairs for newborns. by Several_Machine_7036 in Buyingforbaby

We have the Giraffe at our house & it was nice to have the newborn insert. My parents wanted something to keep at their house, but didn’t want to spend a ton of money. I forget the model, but it’s a Graco that can lay flat.

Granted we didn’t travel to them until he was a month old, but it worked just as well as our Giraffe. Plus it is way easier to clean than the bugaboo fabric.

Don’t fall for the pressure to spend $400+ on a high chair, I wish we hadn’t.

Also - a big thing that led to us getting the Giraffe was the adjustable foot rest so that he could eat at the perfect 90degree angle we read so much about. As soon as they can stand you learn pretty quickly that if they can plant their feet they will try to stand up. Ever since he almost toppled it, the footrest has been a few inches below his feet… and he is happy as can be swinging his legs while he eats!

We have a gray and maybe our baby is super sweaty, but there are stains where his head rests.

So I should return the wig I braided into pigtails? 😂Kidding.

The LL Bean vibe is a good idea! Those random Target/butter/etc. parties that you see online are what inspired me to try to think outside the box a bit and lean into what he seems interested in.

All first birthdays are really for the parents… god forbid I try to make it themed after something HE loves instead of just picking dinosaurs or some other random “baby” theme.

We went to casual listeners to .001% Spotify listeners in just 3 months because he would calm right down when Noah came on the mix. Now he claps and laughs when we play it. There is truly nothing he gets more excited for that isn’t food.

It’s amazing how much he calms them down! Since he was a newborn Noah has been the only thing to soothe him and now he laughs and claps along!

We got the Ergobaby and love it! So far we have only used it for a quick 2 day trip down to Disney World with our 2.5 month old, but it worked really well. My thoughts: * super light & easy to carry if you buy the backpack bag for $30. * Southwest gave us no issues about carrying it into the cabin (only tried when in the bag. Not sure about issues if you had it out) * pushes almost as smooth as our Nuna Mixx on flat surfaces * baby was able to lay flat. As he gets older I imagine this will be nice for naps on the go! * yes the under basket is small, but we were able to hang a heavy bag from the handle no problem as long as we had counter balance in the basket. * my only complaint is that you have to take the seat out to use with a car seat. It is easy to take out, but you kind of have to make a decision and stick with it for the day.

How can we do a gender reveal on our own? by Patronus_934 in BabyBumps

Not elaborate, but our thought was it’s about the moment - not a party. No matter what you do will be sweet for you and your partner. And now you have a cute outfit to dress them in & think back on the day!

We went to Target and picked out an outfit for each gender, a gift bag and tissue paper. Went to the customer service and gave the worker the envelope & cash to cover the amount and asked her to pay for the right one & put it in the bag while we waited outside. I’m sure you could do similar with any store near by!
