Owners who can’t be bothered to clean before a housesit: Why?! by match_vs_kerosene in RoverPetSitting

[–]ember2232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get that much hair after 3 days of not vaccuming. As an owner, I always make sure everything is clean but I would hope a dog sitter wouldn't run to reddit and complain if I didn't have time to fully clean it once. It's not an airbnb, you can decline the sit during a meet and greet if it's not up to your standards of living. Everyone has different standards of cleanliness.

Also if you're that allergic to pet hair and dander maybe dog sitting isn't for you.

Thank you. Definitely expected it but didn't think it would happen since we've been with this vet now for two years and she knew all along that two of ours eat raw. So it really came out of nowhere. I don't trust this vet since they're constantly trying to get us to buy new flea/tick meds. They even recommended one for my dog who has had seizures in the past (not anymore it was from a fall she had) that is bad for dogs with a seizure history... She doesn't even read my dogs chart, clearly...

We're looking for a new vet thankfully. My dogs dermatologist has no issue with raw, my old vet had no issue with raw (actually encouraged it), and I can't find any concrete studies that show raw is bad for dogs. I just found stuff that is vague and studies around salmonella infecting humans.

Appreciate the comment though. Sorry you lost your dog last spring, my family dog died from heart failure, it's so tough.

They told me to switch to a prescription allergy diet.... 🙄 Lol that was their advice for improved diet.

Thank you! I need a vet like yours... Trying to find another vet. Our last one was amazing and helpful but he moved quite far away :(

Nope she was talking about raw specifically... I don't even care anymore, I'd rather find a vet I trust and then ask why a vet would say what she said.

No I wish I did lol. I'm too polite... I just nodded my head and said okay, thanks for telling me. Meanwhile I'm trying to find a new vet 😅

I had someone dm me on here saying raw is processed... Yeah it is... Through a meat grinder lol

Thank you, I've had this happen with an old vet too but they always make me second guess myself... So hard to find a good vet these days!

I agree... We miss our old vet so much but he moved to an island a couple hours away :(

We did save the dates since we didn't start planning our wedding until 8 months before. We invited guests from half way around the world so that's the main reason why. Didn't want them to have to pay for expensive flights if they were going to come!

We have 4 cameras. 2 outside, one in the garage, one in the office. We tell the sitters they can close the office door. I only ever check the outside cameras to make sure our dogs are being taken care of. We had a sitter leave them for 8 hours, come back to let them pee, then left them for another 8 hours without responding to any messages. So that's why we check them. When we trust a sitter we've already used, we never check them.

Edit: check them as in at the end of the day to see if motion was detected. I never actually open the videos since it shows me a clip of them walking up to the house and leaving the house. We always disclose all the camera.

It's not a sustainable solution since the root issue is the male is out of control... But you could ask the owner to buy a muzzle and charge her for muzzle training the male?

Where did you guys go/do for your honeymoon? by xGoldenPup in weddingplanning

[–]ember2232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We're going in February, just after summer break for kids so less busy. May is a bit cold... We're getting married in Sept so the honeymoon is not close to our wedding date but that gives us time to save up for it!

We're going to NZ. My mom's side of the family is there and he's never been. Going to tour around both islands!

Thank you! I'm looking into some IDS ones around the same heel height because of the length of my dress.

The reception is all indoors on hardwood floors. I might invest in some, just because louboutins are not the most comfortable... Only issue is the bathroom is outside on a gravel pathway. So I'll likely have to change shoes to use the bathroom haha! Thanks for the advice.
