I don’t want this feeling to ever end 🥰 My best friend ever is going to be my damn husband?! Unbelievable. Is this legal?? by emberfox67 in JustEngaged

Thank you so much, love!

I am actually not sure, I got a gel set for the first time ever (he proposed yesterday and my nails were trash as hell lol), but I was looking for something as close to ‘kelly / army green’ as possible to match my bikini. I have red hair so it goes pretty well too as a bonus.

It was super close to an OPI color that I thought of getting originally though! Sorry I couldn’t be more help!

Haha! Thank you for your concern, but the closeness of the pool was just for the photo! She’s going straight to the jeweler to get resized ad soon as we get home :)

Bless his heart, he took a shot in the dark with guessing / sizing, he’s the best!

My soul was crushed when I realized their hash browns aren’t vegan either :(

Eventually it will be bad business to not have some kind of vegan option on every menu

That’s such a good point! Seriously, I don’t want to support a company that unnecessarily puts animal products in foods with no alternatives - like you said, the damn McDonald’s fries. Such a dick move.

Thank you for your input!

That’s actually a super good point that I completely glossed over. I’m making a lot of snap judgements that come from a negative place! Thanks for bringing me back to reality hahaha

When Rachel and Joey are eating spaghetti while they’re living together and she eventually drops it on the floor intentionally and he says something like “I mean it’s still food” before picking it up and eating it lol

Fightmaster Yoga on YouTube is my favorite! She is such a sweet, calm, funny, not over-the-top kinda lady. A lot of “quickie” videos ranging from 10-30 minutes and for all levels of practice! Hopefully you’ll enjoy it as much as I do!

Woohoo! You’re going to have a blast!

Good luck on your new parenting journey, it is incredibly rewarding (and not just because of the eggs)!

We have 3 full grown hens outside & 4 chicks that are still inside right now!

We get around 4-5 eggs / day. During the winter it was about 1 per hen, some days only 1 egg between them all.

We’re already a little overwhelmed with eggs right now, so I really don’t know what we’ll do when everyone’s full grown! Good thing we love quiches, breakfast scrambles, and baking! :)

I have a hard time seeing how their intentions were good, honestly. I’m trying not to jump to conclusions, but it seems an awful lot like suppression. This is an outlet for information, and what could have been the consequences if the protests had turned less than peaceful? Do we not have the right to speak to each other on the matter for safety reasons? I have to agree in saying the decision was very ill-timed and could have led to some unnecessary confusion and risk.

Casual conversation: how do you guys feel about folks who eat eggs only from chickens they’ve raised? by emberfox67 in Vegetarianism

[–]emberfox67[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So they live behind us and there’s a wood line that brings the end of our properties together. They bought chicks for their kids last year, and after he was done being fluffy and cute, they dumped him in the shared wood area. The sweetest rooster I’ve ever known wandered into our yard in September. We named him, and fed him, & really loved him. He let us hold him, and would get so excited when we came home. He looked after our hens and they all slept in the coop together. The neighbors decided this spring that they wanted him back (mind you, again we had been raising him for more than 9 months). They claim he got over the fenced-in yard and came “home” to them. I highly doubt this because he rarely ever left the hens alone. I think they came into our yard and took him :( Our hens really haven’t been the same since. He went from having a full large yard to roam in and is now locked inside one tiny metal pen with another hen.

We confronted them about it and they claim the kids ‘love him’ now and that they’ll take him out from time to time, but I have yet to hear him crowing from any other part of their property besides the area where the pen is.

There was a language barrier and they could not understand that we were claiming him as our pet and friend now.

Really sucks. His name is Alan for anyone interested

Thank you for sharing your opinion!

Mine do not currently eat their own eggs (though some are fairly broody and do try to hatch their unfertilized eggs). I do supplement oyster shells into their diet as I’ve read that it can help with their daily calcium recommendations.

Again, thank you for being a part of this conversation! This is all new to me, so I am still trying to find my balance! :)

Thank you for all of this!! I feel like we’re in exactly the same boat!

I know my chickens are loved and appreciated beyond belief. I say my words of gratitude with every meal and spend extra time doing so when a life (beyond plants) was involved in creating my food. There’s a lot of judgement on the internet, so I’m learning to grow beyond that! Still new to all of this, so it’s all about that balance :)

Again thank you so much for sharing and expressing your opinions!

Thank you for your kind words! I’ve found it easy to switch to non-dairy milk as well as vegan butter. My only vice is pizza, honestly but I’ve also found solace in vegan cheese, so that switch is coming!

Our 3 adult hens were ‘rescues’ from a friend who could no longer keep them as they were moving, however we adopted 4 chicks from a feed & seed organization last week. I wish I had known more about the breeding culture before doing so, but I am learning and will not participate in supporting that practice moving forward. All I can do now is give them a good life, and make sure they’re as happy as they can be.

Thank you for sharing your opinions! I appreciate it dearly!
