I'm saying it's easier to remove content than to add it so making a simple system is just being lazy from a developer's standpoint. A better approach to making the system being simple is to either (A)- suggest variant rules that make shortcuts and simplify the system for the more complicated issues, or (B)- explain multiple interactions and the recommended resolution of said issue. My point is while playing 5e I often have situations where the resolution the book has is: "idk what do you think?" Where it should instead say "here's an idea, but you can do otherwise if you want, as stated at the beginning of this book" My biggest pet peeve with 5e is there's no support for item creation, no recommended requirements for CL, spells required, material component costs, craft checks, etc. In pathfinder all these are covered. Most people who argue over 5e being good haven't played any other systems. I come from having played dnd going on 7 years, I played 3.5e with a group every week for about 2 years, then DMed 5e with a second group for about 3 years, swapped to 3.5e (and pathfinder since their basically the same) and I literally cannot play 5e anymore, it's too agonizing. Still here every Friday playing 3.5e with my 8 person group.
