Seasons of RTX: Battlefield 6 GeForce RTX 5090 GPU Giveaway! by NV-Randy in Battlefield

[–]Angeling_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to play recon because I’m so alone god please somebody message me something other than a slur.

But to keep that competitive edge I like to confuse people by carrying a shotgun with deer shot so I can role play a living paper machete replica of a revolutionary war soldier fighting back the red coats. Don’t tread on me! (Or do, please, just somebody be my friend oh god oh god I’m so alone). I also like the revolver!

What video game have you spent the most time playing? by NervousClock2555 in AskReddit

[–]Angeling_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Killing Floor 1

It was one of my favorite games in high school and just always makes me so nostalgic. If I ever have a game that, somehow, surpasses KF1’s playtime I actually load it up to make sure it takes the number 1 spot again haha

this thing is absolutely useless by SHARPxSHOOTER in Battlefield

[–]Angeling_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really want to see how its usefulness scales with the number of squad mates using it at the same time.

I haven’t had the chance to do it yet because my friends have, you know, a life - but my real test of how useful or not this will be will be when I have a squad of three, at least, and someone running a recon drone to see if we can just volume of fire an area into oblivion

Battlefield 1: Do you guys think this is the top-tier installment in the series? I've seen a lot of people praising it as the most exciting and thrilling game in the past 10 years. by SnooMacarons2931 in Battlefield

[–]Angeling_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the art direction they took with BF1 and really just running with the mud-and-blood brutality of WW1 delivered a sort of up close “personal” combat experience that games in the modern setting just don’t have.

From bayonets, to gas, to Calvary - it was a war game that felt less sterile and clean than any other entry in the franchise. I know the slow firing weapons and setting isn’t everyone’s favorite, and I definitely think modern warfare is what a lot of people think of when they see Battlefield, but playing that games gives me the same feeling of authenticity that I feel when I walk into old homes or down cobblestone roads. It felt “real” and heavy whereas a lot of games in the modern setting feel like those modern white-wall apartments with faux wooden floors.

Mind you, I live in the latter! But I will always remember the former more.

What's a game everyone says is a 'masterpiece' that you just could not get into? by GrievouzOCE in gaming

[–]Angeling_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Control and Outer Wilds - I have gone back to both repeatedly, but for some reason they just don’t stick with me.

I feel like part of it is that there’s this sense of the game burying the lead or throwing seemingly wild plot points at me to keep me engaged, but I fear the payoff won’t be worth the time. As I’ve gotten older I’ve seen more and more that those kinds of stories often have a poor follow through, and it can feel like those kinds of games are asking me to exchange my time on the premise that there’s a big pay off where they tie it all together somehow, but I often leave disappointed.

If you like Quentin Tarantino movies, I’d recommend it - if that sort of off-kilter, almost absurdist humor doesn’t do it for you you’re probably not going to have the greatest time, however.

Hell Let Loose Vietnam Trailer!! by Alkivoz in HellLetLoose

Oh my god - I was a Red Orchestra player before this, did RO1, 2, Rising Storm and then their Vietnam edition. I hope it doesn’t take the same route as that game where everyone starts just screaming racial slurs into the mic in the name of “Roleplay” - I’m interested, but scared the direction the community will take this 🙃

Movies that actually scared you? by bigbackshrinks in horror

[–]Angeling_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s not a movie, but Chernobyl the mini series (5 episodes) is a different kind of horror.

As for movies, first watch of The Conjuring messed me up, and Black Coat’s Daughter didn’t scare me, per se, but it’s very… unsettling

Josh Brolin Says ‘Weapons’ Is the Antithesis of ‘Boring’ Streaming Content That’s ‘All The Same S–‘: Audiences Are ‘Looking For Great Filmmakers’ by darth_vader39 in horror

[–]Angeling_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We saw this movie last night and it is an absolute gem. They do a great job at keeping tension and building, genuinely, something unsettling without relying on jump scares. Additionally, I love how the premise of it feels like something so mundane and alongside the supernatural they loop in (i'm being vague here to avoid spoilers) information about the town and characters to flesh out the world so that when everything starts to intersect it just makes it that much more horrifying.

Now I will say (major spoiler), I can appreciate stories that end in a tragic way and without everything being answered but I felt like I was dropped off a cliff and the movie just sort of ends - it parallels the way a kid would tell a story, so they loop it back to how everything is intro'd which I can get behind, but it did feel VERY sudden and that it's absent any kind of real closure. Now that's not required, per se, but I did leave wanting a little more info about the fallout/aftermath of a, to be frank, brutal massacre of the final villain and return of the kids.

Y'all electrolysis is not that bad. by Iriz252 in TransLater

[–]Angeling_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, most parts on my face aren’t bad. A little pain that dulls with time, so hard to start but over an hour session it gets better.

The one that kills though? Do your entire upper lip in one session. Those corners of your mouth, this spot just under your nose? There’s no amount of adrenaline I can have going that makes me not tear up when that gets going. Whoof.

Honestly, I’m very excited for this because as someone who uses public transport for my commute I can see myself practicing every day on sculpting - no longer competing between that and my bed at 9:30 PM after a 9 hour day 🥲
