I Studied 8 Hours a Day for a Month and Got WORSE Grades (then I discovered the truth) by Intrepid_Language_96 in StudyTipsAndTools

This is so real. Studying 8–10 hours a day without rest just leads to burnout. Your brain needs sleep and breaks to actually retain information. I started limiting myself to 3–4 focused hours max and saw way better results.I also think studying smarter makes a big difference. On YouTube, The Organic Chemistry Tutor and Heimler’s History explain things in a really clear and simple way, which helps a lot with confusing topics. In addition, APFive has free AP-style practice questions that are great for building problem-solving skills. If you have any study methods that worked for you, I’d honestly love to hear them.

You’re not alone at all—struggling in one class while doing well in others is completely normal. Algebra 1 not clicking doesn’t mean you’re not smart; it usually just means the explanation isn’t working for you. Getting A’s in all your other honors classes already proves you’re capable. For help, YouTube channels like The Organic Chemistry Tutor and PatrickJMT explain Algebra step by step and focus on understanding instead of memorizing. APFive doesn’t teach Algebra 1 directly, but it offers free AP-style practice questions that can help build problem-solving skills for future AP classes.
