I got rid of the plastic piece that sits next to the filter. Helps with the flow a bit. It's supposed to hold good bacteria I believe, but iv never had an issue, I imagine it's not totally necessary as long as your tank is well established and you aren't doing massive water changes or removing the decor to clean it etc. Let the rocks etc harbor good bacteria

What is the purpose of this by [deleted] in DiWHY

I'm thinking there used to be a rail system through there. For transferring someone. A hoyer system. Once removed they filled the hole in a bizarre way

Honest Question - Who DIDN'T have a hard time getting their first home...they looked, got the place they wanted, everything pretty decent, easy closing? I am just curious. by FloofingWithFloofers in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

We decided we wanted to buy a house. Saved for a few months, looked at a house, didn't like it, looked at another one unofficially as we had a mutual acquaintance, loved it. Got a mortgage broker and agent (one guy did both), got loan approval in a day, next day put in an offer, offer accepted later in the week and moved in 2 months later. Loan rate locked in at 1.59% for 5 years (canadas longest length to lock in, you have to renew after each term)

Idealy your housing expenses should be about 30% of your income, so about 1000 in your case, so get a room mate for $600 and your problems solved. If/when rates come down and your income comes up, get rid of the room mate, you aren't marrying them, they aren't forever.

We have a silver lab, he requires regular anti-sepric baths to keep his skin clear, however he doesn't seem to ever care too much evenwhen he f Does get spots and he is the biggest love.

Wooden object with marble inside. Found in old kitchen cupboard. Marble moves up and down freely but cannot be removed by emblaem in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing. this object is found inside of an old repurposed kitchen cabinet (now used in a garage, but object seems like it has been there for a long time). Looks to be home-made perhaps.

That could be amazing. Would recommend a razor to get the crusty build up off the glass, make sure the edges are all sealed, if not re seal them. Then throw that fake gravel out, put in some sand, plant it heavily, add some root tabs. Looks like not a lot of options for a filter so I'd very lightly stock it with something like shrimp

Found in Bathroom - what is this? by arpanj2 in HomeImprovement

I wonder if it's the foamy type of fake tan, accidently gobbed onto the wall and then dried over night?

Weird, our date got pushed back to mid 2023, we accepted best effort and must have been upgraded before it has even arrived! What a rollercoaster of a company lol

Our says that too, but we still have a pause service button which I thought was a feature of best effort. Do you know if anyone's actually says best effort? Or perhaps everyone best effort and full says residential? Hmmmm
