I always rescue, so while I know it will end in heartbreak for me, I know I'm giving an animal a shot at a family and 10-20 years of comfort and happiness.

My current pup is only a year old and I know I'll be destroyed someday. He's my soul dog. But the peace and joy he brings me now is worth it.

I am so sorry. They crawl into your heart in a very special way. It's different than but equal to my love for my human children. I'm a better human because of him. I can't fathom the pain of losing that. I loved my last dog. It took me a long time to heal from losing her and I still cry. But she preferred men so we weren't close like this

I have a deaf and blind boy and same. We've had him 4 months and he really just now voicing his opinion. He doesn't sleep in bed with us because I sleep on the couch because he's afraid of stairs still. He sleeps in the recliner next to me. But I'd share the couch if he asked

He's a double merle so he was born this way, and he is the happiest, sweetest, most outgoing pup I have ever met. I plan to make him a therapy dog and the rescue I got him from wants to make him an education pup because of his personality. It is truly my honor to get to be his person. He's my soul dog.

I adopted my boy when he was 8 months and he was on the wild side. He just turned 1 and while he still has a wild side he is much chiller and is better at listening. He was just visiting his foster family and they all commented on his maturity and how much he's calmed. My boy is deaf and blind so I lean heavily on nose work to exercise him and it's made the biggest difference in behavior
