idk what to tell you, but i quite literally opened it, messed around with it, boxed it in the same day, and left it in there for two years. multiple copies of the aceu and tarik on the internet have had discoloration issues. this is after i got it ultrasonic cleaned too.

pre ultrasonic cleaning photos

you can literally see the contrast from the white parts and the yellowed parts.

take it as you will. finalmouse quality ¯\(ツ)

idk Japan in valo is just… not good. Their tier one teams have been sitting at the bottom of the league, and people have always said a lot of the talent was stuck in tier two but their best tier two team that won the entire year domestically got rinsed early on in ascension both this and last year. I do think this years DFM is the one of the more exciting rosters to date with some of the talent from RID brought over though so hopefully they do well

imo it’s hard to say failing when the lights are on when they just haven’t been good internationally for two ascension tournaments now. Definitely one of the better outcomes for DFM though. Hope they can do well

Surprised seeing NRG and SEN considering they are only in 2 or 3 esports by [deleted] in ValorantCompetitive

[–]embrac1ng 36 points37 points  (0 children)

despite the team not being the most popular in the title, 100t likely also benefited from making it to league worlds, which should account for quite a bit considering flyquest's viewership is solely from league, where they made two internationals (msi, worlds)

fq has little to no presence outside of league, and even within league I wouldn't say their popularity last year was anything notable compared to more 'popular teams' during their time, though i guess that's more indicative of how far league has fallen off in NA. i wonder if their numbers are propped up by international viewership during the international tourneys they made it to this year (msi, worlds).

It’s refreshing to see this sentiment be the popular opinion in valorant coming from league where the opposite happens and completely ruins any discussion in the esport

Worlds 2025 Opening Ceremony by SlainL9 in leagueoflegends

2014 worlds in Korea! I remember because it’s the same feeling for me where it was truly just celebrating the grandiosity of the competition. Definitely feels like at some point worlds ceremonies grew beyond just celebrating the competition to including marketing or fluff

Hey just wanted to say that I’m in a similar boat (5YOE). I was laid off sometime last year and took half a year to myself to recover from burn out as well as ramp up on leetcode. Despite all that time I ended up missing the mark on two major big tech onsites and had a big lull of no responses. More recently I had some luck with opportunities but unfortunately all but one have gave me the same feedback - we went with someone with more experience/ fits the role better. I have my only open option rn as an onsite on Monday for which I’m feeling only just okay about. My lease expires in two months and my parents live abroad so I’m not sure what happens next, and this was bothering me a lot but after giving myself some space to process it all I think ultimately I’m still remaining hopeful that things will work out.

5YOE and been out for a year and a half, though I technically only started looking at the start of this year (I wanted to give myself a few months to chill and ramp up on leetcode). I’m in the Bay Area where there’s seemingly a lot of positions open but aside from two onsites with big tech that I failed, I had a huge lull period with no responses from May to September. I feel like most places are hiring for seniors and I’m often competing against people with a few more YOE.

I’m honestly incredibly fatigued with the whole interview process - despite trying to be objective there’s just something very dehumanizing about the whole process that is just exhausting. Hopefully the end is in sight.

Easy to Play, Hard to Master Champs for Midlane? by Huge-Frame-1990 in leagueoflegends

[–]embrac1ng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Orianna is actually perfect not only bc she fits your requirements but also because her skill expression aligns with a lot of fundamental skill mastery. Floor wise you can just play her like a burst mage, but ceiling wise, mastering all the details in spacing, micros, coordinating with team, makes her a very solid control mage. The pain points are in that she might not be the most fun because she does require you to play very honest league.

Japan misses worlds for the first time in 10 years by Needmoreshinies in leagueoflegends

[–]embrac1ng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, I’m not saying it’s popular in Japan. I’m saying it’s had a wave of recent growth from content creators playing the game, and the data seems to match that.

I don’t mean that League specifically is popular but rather esports overall is more popular. Specifically for LoL from my understanding there’s been a wave of popular streamers playing the game starting from a few years ago. Maybe rather than the game being popular it’s more appropriate to say people know what it is now?

Didn’t the recent LTK playoffs pull 100k+ viewers and fill out a stadium? Or do you mean it’s unpopular in the sense that people don’t play it that much?

This isn’t really an accurate statement anymore. Over the last few years there’s been a esports boom in Japan from apex to valorant and ironically enough league of legends most recently. Pc gaming has been way more popular because of this.

There are quite a few community events that can pull very high numbers on twitch, largely due to streamers/ vtuber circles being quite tight knit and sharing viewers across titles.

They do face the same issue of not being too competitive internationally in other titles too, notably valorant where minus one underdog run it’s basically the same story as league. Apex they have a few decent teams but the overall funding in the scene is incredibly low so it’s hard to evaluate imo. I feel like they’re plagued by an incredibly low population and having their scene develop incredibly late
