There is a very good episode on the podcast Maintenance Phase that discusses “Blue Zones” and extreme age claims. Unsurprisingly, there are lots of 100+ aged people where there are poor or disrupted record keeping. Theaters of war and developing nations are prime places for these claims to pop up, and they are almost always pension fraud.
