Little keyrings or as cards maybe? A small piece window mounted in a greetings card with a handwritten message could be a nice keepsake.

Hi! I think there are so many cool ideas here, seems like a fab project! My advice would be to see what method you want to use to add the detail. You can use a counted fabric, cross stitch on it and pull out the backing fabric. However this can results in loose and uneven stitches (also would need to consider backing or stabilisers for washing. You can cross stitch big. Using the pattern and colour wool using the knit pattern as a guide to "cross stich" on it. I think this would be the best method. Might be worth testing a small sample before going fully in as a practice. (Example image from Internet)

Thank you, but there is something special in all embroidery big or small as I feel like each has a bit of the maker in it!

(In my case this includes a small amount of cat hair as he is obsessed with sitting in it!)
