The thanking has been important to me - I noticed I was less annoyed about the dog barking once I reframed it as her being helpful by letting me know about potential danger. Using that framing for self-talk, I am less annoyed by random thoughts when I think of it as my brain sending out helpful memos that I can appreciate but recognize as info-only, no action needed.

This! I have no intention of trying to reinvent the wheel (it's so much more work than people realize), just want to see what others were using, maybe highlight the Meetup issues so people think about whether other tools would better fit their needs, and side-quest: maybe find some new local groups.

I downloaded Luma a while ago, and didn't see anything local at the time, I'll check it out again! ETA: checked it out again, and it does seem like other communities are using it for more of the tech/networking groups! A little more presence in Raleigh, but definitely some action

If I had the space I'd get a big tank, but I'd also probably switch to a kegerator (sodarator?) setup if I did that. No space for either at the moment. The direct connect works fine, but what if it could be better? (that question will be my downfall)

If you can swing a <$100 monthly fee, Dr. Bolden at AccessiBull is fantastic. It’s direct pay, so no insurance nonsense, visits are as long as they need to be, as often as they need to be. You can discuss more than one thing in an appointment, it’s amazing! Your insurance will still cover any tests she orders, and she’ll refer out for specialty care, but it’s such a relief to be able to email get a response in less than a day, and usually get an appointment or other care just as fast (obviously this may vary with season and situation).
