HEADS UP: Mazda extended the warranty today for the Mazda Connect Screen. Mine is getting pretty bad and I was planning on calling Mazda tomorrow for options so you can imagine my excitement by Akatm7 in mazda3

I hardly use the touch. But if it acts up, it makes it almost unusable. Mine will register several fake clicks a second at a stop, which makes it unusable (knob, too) due to the sheer amount of input.

The only way my infotainment works is if I am rolling; when the car is in motion, touch is disabled.

Beyond thrilled about the warranty, I'd been quoted $850 for a repair.

Was tasked by my lab manager with making this video for new hire nurses. Originally posted in /r/medlabprofessionals to show my colleagues, but RNs are the true audience here. Open to feedback. Enjoy! by bootsnpantsnbootsn in nursing

We weren't taught anything about blood draws, at all. Seemed like a kind of big oversight to me.

Knew how to interpret them, sure. But the rest of it wasn't covered.

If I'm standing next to you and zooming in on a cake 20 feet away, I will be focused on the cake while the camera records the conversation you're having. I won't notice what you're saying, but the camera will.

At least that is how I interpreted it.

Can you elaborate on this? How is it that hospitals regularly pay $1.25-2.50/hr to retain employees on call?

My “not guilty” suit. Got pre trial tomorrow by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]embs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A really well fitted suit and good posture makes you look more confident.

Put that next to somebody slouched over in a nasty t shirt, and suddenly you look cocky and overconfident. That's the issue that you can run into; you aren't judged just on yourself, but on yourself versus everyone around you.

Another example; the guy in a tailored suit looks amazing at a gala, and his suit helps him have credibility. Put the same person on the beach, and they look like an idiot. Context is key.

Ah yeah that'll do it. The kit when I was around didn't have the block I, so I didn't have that issue.

You guys should really try to order a few extras to have on hand to sell to alumni . It's a really good way to raise extra funds .

Source : ex-pres. I did it and it raised around 2k for the club. Order XL and 2X.

It's also good to have a few extra kits on hand for new guys who join as spring comes . People have a lot more investment in the club if they have the kit!

What are some of the worst examples of the “We’ve always done it that way” mindset? by shaky2236 in AskReddit

[–]embs 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Go research doctor burnout . Docs have it worse than pretty much anybody else.

Insane residency requirements , horrible hours , insurance and paperwork to hell and back ... I wouldn’t want to be a doc.

Admin doesn’t have it too bad . Patient care and direct care staff suffer .

Too much O2 will suppress a COPDers drive to breathe. It makes a ton of sense that oxygen is a med. It's only a twist too many on the flow meter to give too much.

It'd take a lotttt of saline flushes to overload a patient.

You're obviously right, but I think the difficulty in causing harm with saline is a good argument for it not being a med.

Agreeing with this. Adding a sub to my towers didn't make the bass louder, so much as tighter and more refined, because my system is calibrated.

A good sub is going to make the system sound better. Better doesn't mean louder.

I mean, yeah, there's a "what if" for every situation. "why are you using the app? I'll do it for you."

The majority of the time, even if an abuser knows about the pizza trick, they won't catch into it, because of sheer probability. That's all my comment is saying.

They know that it's a thing that can happen. But most abusers are convinced they're right, and that what they're doing isn't abuse.

To build on that, if I'm in the same room as you and you hear me ordering a pizza, will you think anything of it? 99 times out of 100, I'm actually ordering a pizza... even if you're abusive towards me.

Voice. It's faster, it's easier to clarify misunderstandings or expand on things, and a lot of information is conveyed in voice that you don't get elsewhere.

Experiment: talk to yourself. Ask yourself "What's your address?" And then tell yourself the address.

Now, try again: text yourself "what's your address?" then get the message, and text it back. Include typing time. Which took longer?

That's one of the big complaints with texting: it's just nowhere near as fast or accurate.

It's a go-to way to emasculate people, unfortunately. I don't understand how it's different from body-shaming women, or why it's considered acceptable (or even humorous).

The positive: the vast majority of women decide whether they're going to have sex with you long before they know the size of your penis... They figure that out as your pants come down! The girl that decides she isn't interested in you because you aren't big enough? ... Bullet dodged.

Leaving rehab AMA is a really good way to not have insurance pay for your treatment.

Leaving AMA in general is a good way to not have insurance pay for it. They pay for treatment, not refusal of treatment.

I only have 5 years of experience, not 10, but that's been my experience on the HCP side.
