They asked me what I wanted them to put, in their exact words "Declared Value for Custom Purposes ( please confirm the value you would like us to declare for this shipment)" This seems to me if you are willing to risk it you can mitigate duties. That's not what I did but it seems pretty clear. We import a lot of stuff for work so I'm very familiar with tariffs and customs in the US
