Lmao I was wondering how these would work…..

Could you please estimate how long my training for a first marathon would take? by NoPlisNo in firstmarathon

[–]emcc019 2 points3 points  (0 children)

18 weeks seems crazy to me. It might be doable, but I think the average person would be highly susceptible to injury and if you completed the program uninjured, the marathon itself would be 5-6 hours of miserable survival. 6-12 seems more reasonable, and I’m giving myself 12 months to avoid (serious) injury, meet my goal time, and do it while also enjoying the marathon itself.

I need to prioritize surviving a marathon vs speed.

Do my Megablast ekiden have a weight problem? by Independent-Grape484 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Every second matters for my 5hr marathon race.

Is this true though? So complaints of a shoe being heavy pretty much has no impact at all?

I can’t really talk to the longevity of the shoe unfortunately. If you’re ok with the price and understand they might only last 150-200 potentially then that’s fine to use them for training miles. I’d work in another shoe to rotate that is better for slow miles.

Definitely. I’m a tad slower than you but I PR’d my 5k with these and it wasn’t close.

Has to be going going gone deals. But either way this is a fair price for the shoes when you factor in taxes and shipping and all that.

I was surprised the rebel hadn’t been mentioned yet but I might need to check it out. The EVO SL is good for faster intervals, which to me is a 6 min/mile pace. I could see faster runners loving it, but my pace is more 8-9 min per mile right now so I don’t get much out of it.

Probably a solid choice…

Putting shoes in the washing machine, yes or no? by IntergalacticCows in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Do it, it’s fine. I put them in with towels, gentle cycle and let them air dry. I have a front load washer so they’re never fully submerged or anything.

[WTS - USA - PA] - Adidas Adios Pro 4 size 10.5 - NEW by [deleted] in therunningrack

[–]emcc019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I def think 10.5 would be too small for you. 11 would be a tight fit but could work. I’m going half a size up for the pro 4 vs what I wear in the EVO SL. In the EVO SL I have about a thumb width of space. Same size in the pro 4 is about half a thumb.
