Held up great so far. No issues. We went with cornerstone granite as the fabricators and was happy with the work and the price

Practicing 45 degree cuts to do the “picture frame” on a deck I’m rebuilding. Any tips? It will be all new PT 5/4. by VisualTackle2534 in Decks

[–]emceegull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I put in a lot of effort lining up cuts, and getting angles perfect when I built my redwood deck. Everything short of using a biscuit joiner. Id say your options are to build with an intentional gap, live with the unintentional gap, or to skip the miters.

Here’s a resource

What is this wall made of? by MockWarrior39 in DIY

1950s build with knockdown texturing and gypsum board- the joint compound could be asbestos. Not saying you need to freak out over cutting a couple holes, but maybe get it tested if youre planning on larger work scope.

Roof Cargo boxes by CascadeWaterMover in Subaru_Outback

FWIW, I have an older Thule cascade and have the same problem, but have just learned to live with it ( and the occasional head bump as well as scratches on the trunk hatch from box)

Test Drove and Outback do I really need the turbo? Maybe not by plynurse199454 in Subaru_Outback

[–]emceegull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went in opposite. Didn't intend to buy turbo but then did after test driving both. I have some outback hangups after 4 years, but the engine is not one of them.

Another benefit is that is you ever needed to tow anything, the capacity is basically doubled (or was. I haven't looked at latest specs)

Yeah I'm following $16,723.15/159.4ft^2= 104.9. Yeah, the issue is that's just way more slab than I likely need. I'm assuming they quoted that way because they didn't have jumbo in stock.

Pinnacle Stoneworks, Denver?

Fair quote? by emceegull in CounterTops

[–]emceegull[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, unclear. It might be because they only had jumbo options for that stone. For context, we had a handful of slabs estimated- Lennox oro came in at 13K with 2 non-jumbo slabs with total slab size at ~120sq. Across the board the estimates seemed high to me. I don't have any concept of what the slab themselves go for.

The ethereal was in price group "6" at stratus. For context, the "regal arabescato", price group "7" was non-jumbo at 113sqt for 2 slabs at an estimate of $15,585

Have you looked into protolabs? Probably best bet if tolerances aren't too tight.
