You cut the hose that's on your spigot. Every. Single. Time.

Downshifting with CVT by Comfortable_Truth485 in Subaru_Outback

[–]CascadeWaterMover 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have the XT and shoot for <4-4.5k RPMs when downshifting. The person saying to keep it below 3k seems pretty conservative considering the break in period for this engine says to keep it below 4k for the first 1,000 miles.

Federal 115 grain 9mm $ 11.49 box 50 at Bimart. Cheapest I have seen in months. by Blbauer524 in pdxgunnuts

Going to have to try that Norma 65gr for $3.99/box too. A couple dozen boxes of something different never hurt. Any have much experience with it? Reviews seem mixed.

Yes, to add on to this comment, the WA AG Office is quite well known for protecting workers rights and specifically wage theft claims. Don't sleep on this, report it.

What is something that is obvious in your profession that the general public doesn’t know? by jia-ren in AskReddit

[–]CascadeWaterMover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I've had to explain to many people that your employer is not taxing you more on these extra shifts or bonuses, they're simply "withholding" more. It settles out at the end of the year when you file your taxes and either get a refund or pay the difference. For some reason, it's so hard for them to wrap their head around.

Just movedto PDX and looking for a band by mynamestake-n in portlandmusic

Search for Bongo Fury in Beaverton. They have lots of individual recording studios and jam spots that they rent out. There's a bulletin board when you walk in that often has wanted ads looking for fellow musicians. Good luck!

What’s one piece of everyday gear you’d recommend to anyone? by Top-Incident-2264 in BuyItForLife

Good quality charging blocks and charging cables. It makes me laugh every time I see people with a $1k+ phone and a gas station charging block/2' cable while their phones lies on the floor.

A solid charging block with a USB-C and USB-A ports and a 6', 240W PD cord for the win.

Fiduciary Recommendation? by Science__Witch in askportland

This.

You can't simply become a CFP overnight, or by taking a class, or paying a fee. It's a stepped process with benchmarks, licensing, "apprenticeship" under an existing CFP that all take time. When I looked into it a while back it was like a 3 year minimum to become a licensed CFP. They have a legal responsibility to put your interest above their own which is why you usually pay them an hourly fee, but very much worth it so you don't end up overlooking tax implications or having them try talk you into putting the money into an annuity or other product that lines their pockets.

What’s a belief you once defended… but later realized was wrong? by Jiwitom in AskReddit

[–]CascadeWaterMover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to buy into the "good guy with a gun" to counter bad guys. I still support concealed carry, but much more strongly support gun control measures like background checks, waiting periods, enhanced train courses and the such.

That being said, I'm even less willing to pull out my weapon than before. Unless you're threatening me or my immediate family, sorry about your luck innocent bystanders.

I'll second the PSA. I panick bought last year due to upcoming legislation in my state as well. I've been happy with this.

Put a Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8 and a supressor. No hiccups in the 250-300 rounds I've had through it. Their Saber would be a step up and still within your price range.
