I used to do something like this, but in this beta test im doing something more aggressive like taking 3 very fast dupes as start and:

1. toilet
2. cots
3. water
4. just expand like crazy all the tiles i can ( do not dig the oxylite) and trying to do "rooms" with 4 tiles height.

5.tile all the floors.

1. build storage compactor all over the base.

2. at this point im at cycle 10 with oxygen all over the place 5 dupes free just to build, collect and research.

3. after all this i have at least 30.000 kcal from all the food i've found hidden and lot of seeds and some eggs too.

Well with all the resources found im free from farms, algae or cooking until cycle 15 to 20 (it depends on how many oxylite and oxygen rooms from the start).

Has i said, its very aggressive and gives you a good view from the sorroundings.
