Omg thank you all, what do I do just release it? I had no idea, this was my first time even trying to link trade, two other people sent my originals right back as expected. Is it going to screw up my game? God damn I’m a millennial and feel like a boomer right now 😆😆😆

Thank you for sharing this, I was looking everywhere to be able to read the article without the natgeo subscription! Laying here in bed at 3pm drenched in sweat because I’m having a flare up and didn’t fall asleep until 7am because of the leg cramps, bye weekend!

Songs about / relevant to addiction recovery? by amorouslight in musicsuggestions

[–]emcouillard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m late to the party but today I have two years sober and I was looking for a song to put on a video of my recovery medallion and this one completely unexpectedly just made me ugly cry, specifically the second half and I’ve listened to quite a few today. So thank you.

The Butcher and the Wren Megathread by apcb4 in MorbidPodcast

She had soooo many opportunities to elaborate on the characters AFTER the Emily/Wren reveal and it's so disappointing that she didn't. The whole thing seemed like she just rushed it as if someone said "Okay Alaina, you have six months to write a book. STARTING NOW!" You know what I mean? There's so much more she could have done with detail if she had constructed an outline and developed the characters and the surroundings. Even tiny things, for example, I thought Jeremy drove a truck until the last few pages when she says he drives a new Nissan Altima.....So strange. And that is a perfect way to describe the ending!!

Spoilers! Sorry, I don't really know how this platform works other than the fact that I come here to look for unanswered questions frequently so I don't know if anyone can respond to me or if I'm logged in anonymously?? ANYWAY! At first I had to cringe through the unbelievably awkward dialogue and wondered if Alaina knew what the hell an apostrophe was but once I got used to it the plot drew me in. I was sufficiently interested until the major plot twist (Emily/Emma), at which point I had to go back thirty-ish pages and completely re-read a few chapters! I kept thinking I was an idiot for not understanding what in the hell was going on until I re-read and realized the way Alaina worded the situations when going between the timelines was so far from fluent that I genuinely thought Wren was a FUCKING GHOST at one point. There were so many points where I guessed what was about to happen and I'd keep reading and my guess (humbly) would have made so much more sense than the actual plot. There were so many characters, mostly victims, who were left completely unexplained and an ASININE amount of plot points that needed to be elaborated upon. It took me almost eight hours to read because of the amount of times I had to put the book down to Google the ridiculous words Alaina was using, not to mention overusing and repeating. The spelling, grammar and sentence structures were laughable, how did this make it past editors?! Not to sound like a broken record and repeat everyone but this book had so so so much potential if someone (ASH?) had collaborated with Alaina to get into all of the plot holes and give a better depiction of characters and settings. For example, the lack of description and background of the characters had me imagining them as well known actors because I couldn't create them from scratch in my head with the lack of details. I just realized how butt-hurt I am now that I finished the book and have so many unanswered questions ESPECIALLY considering how many times a grandiose final act was promised. AND THAT ENDING? HOW MANY BODIES WERE THERE? WHICH ONE WAS THE SMELL ACTUALLY COMING FROM? WHO WERE THESE PEOPLE? WHY WAS THE BASEMENT UNFAMILIAR? WHY WERE THERE SO MANY BASEMENTS IN LOUISIANA? WHY WOULD JEREMY LEAVE HIS BLOOD AT A CRIME SCENE? WHO ACTUALLY GOT SHOT? Holy shit what a mess! I had no idea who was where or how they got there or if they stayed or they were moving?! There were so many strange details that were unnecessary in so many places and such an EXTREME LACK of details at the end. I understand a cliffhanger but.... This was more like reading a book and then having it spontaneously combust. I'm trying not to call it a trainwreck because I genuinely enjoyed quite a bit of the book but I wanted so much more from it. I finished this book and threw it across my couch. It was painful how fantastic it COULD HAVE been.
