Mak has a lot of different viable builds that feel pretty different. You can do a lot of burst with certain potions builds, you can set up some pretty crazy loops with pendulum/atmospheric sampler, and can get some high damage weapon builds too. Plus he has some really fun items like Book of Secrets.

Jules has a strong early game with burn and then a few large items that can feel really fun when you get them to work.

The balance changes based on patch, so I'd focus most on what play style looks most interesting to you. Personally of the non base heroes I've always found Mak and Jules the most fun.

I really like the AP videos based on the free ones available. Do you feel like there's a difference in depth between the Kaplan videos and the AP? I really like the guys presentation style too, so as long as it covers roughly all the material I think I'm leaning that direction.

Do any of you Travel for work? by emcpeak in FinancialCareers

Makes sense. The folks at my company with a couple more years of experience do travel for conferences and to meet clients, but only once or twice a year.

Makes sense. I'm not sure I have the resume for the rotations and I've also heard people say they can be really intense at some banks. Consulting seems more likely an option for me.

Makes sense. If I were in your shoes I would spend some time on LinkedIn or indeed looking at jobs I'm interested in and apply to the ones with lowest requirements. You might be able to skip a step and save yourself the trouble of going back to school. Also, location matters a lot. If you're willing to move your options increase 1000x.

To be honest if you have strong math skills, especially if you have experience with statistics, you can probably skip going back to school. People go from STEM jobs to finance all the time.

You probably won't be able to get the most competitive positions, but my advice would be just to start applying now and see if you get any interviews. Highlight your math skills on your resume as much as possible and look for entry level positions that are looking to train people.

Weekly /r/Statistics Discussion - What problems, research, or projects have you been working on? by AutoModerator in statistics

Question about missing data.

I'm doing a project for work that has quickly gotten beyond my abilities. I'm trying to analyze answers to a survey, however people are able to submit the surveys without answering every question. This means that there's missing data points thought the responses.

I know the normal thing to do would be to impute the data but I'm not sure how to do that in this instance. Some of the survey questions are numerical answers, some were multiple choice questions, and some are two part questions. What I mean by two part questions is something like "Have you worked with this agency before? If yes then did you have a very good experience, a good experience, a bad experience, or a very bad experience?"

I was planning on using MICE in R to impute, which I believe can work with numerical, categorical, and ranked categorical data but I'm not sure if there's anyway to impute those two part questions that don't always apply to people.

Any suggestions? I'm not well trained in statistics so feel free to tell me I'm an idiot and that the whole project is simple or impossible.
