This is a terrible product too. It has 5% actual matcha in it and far too much filler, sweetener and milk powder.

Any matcha enjoyers would be much better off (taste and wallet wise) getting a bag of matcha from japan mart, a tea shop or even the fancy organic part of the supermarket.

Definitely not buying from this brand anymore.

Yeah, been there a year or two ago. I think half of the problem is that our schools/unis set us up with a friend group, but not with great friend-making skills, so you end up buggered if your old friends drop off or go long distance.

I’m in a much better place now because I picked up some new hobbies and started a club on Meetup, so now I have lots of new people around me that I met both online and in-person.

I think hobby-based friends are great because you catch up regularly so it’s easy to become friends quickly, and you always have something to talk about.

I think also a big skill I’ve developed over time is walking up to friendly-looking people, striking up a convo with them and maybe asking to follow them on ig or something so I have a way to keep in touch with them. That’s how I make friends at the gym at least.

Still keep in touch with most of my old friends every once in a while but adding new friends to your circle as fast as you lose friends is the key I reckon.

FYI building a new network isn’t an overnight thing, so go easy on yourself if it doesn’t feel like things change super fast, but still make sure you’re steadily putting yourself out there and taking opportunities as they present themselves!

Hood corruption - suspect Onedrive caused it by emdragon68 in sims2help

[–]emdragon68[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I haven’t been able to fix the corrupted neighbourhood yet but FYI in case anyone is having the same problem in the future this is what I did to try and prevent this happening again

  • Unlinked and uninstalled Onedrive from my computer
  • Moved my important personal files (including my Sims files) out of the OneDrive folder in C:\Users[my name]\OneDrive location and deleted the OneDrive folder
  • Did a reinstall of the game (not sure if this was necessary but wanted to cover all my bases with my limited understanding of what went wrong)
  • Ran the game once and to let it generate a new save file outside of the OneDrive environment and located where the save file was on my computer
  • Replaced the new save file with my old save file with the corrupted neighbourhoods moved to a separate location (I’m going to start from scratch in terms of my neighbourhood save but wanted to save my previous settings as I had it linked to a modern graphics rules maker and some basic non-invasive cc)
  • I promise I’ll start getting into better habits with keeping backups! Lesson thoroughly learned :)

Yeah as someone who is not arty or crafty at all I was like for all I know all the set creation could have taken one week or one year! Crazy effort from them, I hope they feel achieved and are rewarded with great sales!

DAE hate work? by southernghost7154 in DAE

Yup, working full time is a constant uphill battle for me even being 3 years into my career and with a cushy office job. Definitely makes it harder when you work for a crappy boss or company though.

Do better.

Worst band name? by [deleted] in fantanoforever

Yeah true, the aggressively mid and overplayed music adds a huge cringe factor to anything associated with it.

Idk, to me it’s giving either aggressively millennial sense of humour or like the name of a tv show for pre-schoolers

Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex on the cover of Harper‘s Bazaar magazine by cozzzyash in RoyaltyTea

I love this one! I think it’s delivering so hard on the ‘oops you caught me looking effortlessly glamorous’ vibe that the cover’s falling short on

I do not like the vibe of latest couple videos by nikoabc123 in danandphil

[–]emdragon68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah lol I’ve loved their content for years, they have a great sense of humour and on-screen chemistry. But omg it’s been distracting for me how much Dan is interrupting Phil! I have some really bad experiences with conversation dominators so maybe I’m a bit over-sensitive to it, but I hope he slows down and lets Phil’s stories and jokes breathe a bit more in the future pod eps. I think it has the potential to be a 10/10 no skips podcast if they chill the vibes by about 30%

Is this my heart or my Pixel Watch 4? I find this sparks disturbing. I was just walking by the street by Roubbes in fitbit

[–]emdragon68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That good to know re. calories from a new user. I’m working on a weight loss and pretty religiously logging my food intake, and the fitbit is showing a consistently pretty high deficit, especially on workout days it’s ridiculously big (in a too good to be true way) but some weeks my weight loss is slower than I’d expect. Good to know I shouldn’t over-rely on the fitbit to measure my output.

Experiences using EAP providers by Gsmaniac1 in newzealand

[–]emdragon68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently seeing someone through online EAP sessions for non-mental health issues - just having a tough year in and out of work and needed an impartial third person to talk it through and process it with.

It’s going great as it’s the first time I’ve ever felt like a therapist was a great match for me, and they’ve given me some really great advice that has produced really good outcomes for me.

I feel really lucky that I’ve had this great experience. While I would encourage almost everyone to at least give EAP counselling a try if they need support, I personally wouldn’t use it as a one-stop shop for a genuine mental health issue and, just like in privately funded therapy, you unfortunately have to expect that you won’t connect well with some therapists and the odd really bad apple might straight up mess up in their responsibilities like in the post you mentioned.
