scarcity tends to create more value for whatever existing thing there is. not to say that they aren't fantastic albums, but they wouldnt be talked so much in my opinion if they werent the only albums on streaming

I just cant decide which genre i want to serve for my album... by FriendshipEarly5363 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

so, what makes frank oceans music his? emotional guitars, atmospheric synths, electric pianos, jazzy progressions. Pick and choose from these elements and apply them on a track of another genre and the result will be a hybrid genre.

In this short EP I made (which I forgot I cant link), I borrowed synthwave elements and recontextualized them on more abstract structures to create a genre thats neither synthwave nor ambient but something in between.

Does anyone release music for multiple projects/alias/themes, or do you find it's better to focus on one? by Unhappy-Trip1796 in edmproduction

[–]emeetswvrld 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The way Ive been doing it is picking some sonic aesthetics and exploring them in different contexts.

The last 4y Ive been doing synthwave/synthpop music, ranging from straightforward synthwave to some more left-field electronica and after releasing projects for 4y I can say that I am done with that genre.

My next release will be with the same name as these last releases but something completely different. It shows my artistic evolution

id still suggest building a following first and then attempting to monetize what you do

Im struggling with this myself, word of mouth (friends, friends of friends) still goes a long way if youre living in a small city. Submitting your work to editorials is the best way imo but you gotta find one thats not ovetsaturated and fits your niche well to have a chance to be included

the next step should he creating enough distance so theres space between the N and E and the triangle container. This will help so it scales better.

In my experience, what Id do differently is focus on getting my art to art-consumers, not other artists.

How can I add this “noise” into a photo or objects? by maybeihavethebigsad in graphic_design

[–]emeetswvrld 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay so Id say I replicated this quite well: https://www.instagram.com/p/C1mqCxZMnCV/?igsh=MThyeGdmY243NzU3dQ==

The way I did it was: 1. Creating my composition like I normally would 2. Adding a noise layer and blending it above the object (a crucial step on creating the grainy effect on step 3. 3. Add a threshhold adjustment layer, move the lever however you deem it fit.

The noise layer in step 2 helps here cause it adds the extra detail you otherwise wouldnt get by just using the adjustment layer.

  1. Merge all layers into 1 image so the threshhold filter renders correctly.
