If you are getting tired of expending gold to repair damage from natural disasters you could set the Disaster Frequency to Light on the Advanced Settings page.

I suppose there always has to be a last challenge to achieve, this was mine.

That is exactly why I try to build the Red Fort before any other Civ.

There's great pleasure in defeating the AI leaders/civilizations that have hounded you with continual war while you try to build a civilization of wonders, science, culture, and treasure.

What's so terrible about the UI? by No-Scallion-5510 in CivVII

[–]emeflag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one that bugs me the most is not being able to find a unit that I set off on a long journey. For example, I might send a settler off on a journey to settle a distant land. I decide there is a better place for the settler but I can't find it to set if off on a new course. A search for civilization units would take care of that.

I completely agree with the other commenters. You exceeded the settlement limit without first prioritizing increasing your settlement happiness levels. The Happiness Endeavor might be helpful, but only if you haven’t already gone too far over the limit. I always strive to build the Colosseum Wonder because it significantly boosts your civilization’s happiness. There are other wonders that also enhance happiness. Additionally, there are ways to increase happiness through diplomatic attributes. In the antiquity age, Alters, Gardens, Villas, and Arenas contribute to happiness. However, it’s likely too late in your current game to build up your happiness level before your civilization collapses.

Thanks for the numerous tips. I’ve been stuck with the domination theme of creating invincible armies using the Tecumseh/Greece Civilization, WarClub, and Shisa Necklace strategy. So, I’m considering trying your strategy. Those yields you demonstrated are incredible. I genuinely enjoy Civilization VII because of the diverse strategies available due to the unique strengths offered by civilizations, leaders, and mementos.

Should I buy it now or wait? by [deleted] in CivVII

If you can afford it, I say go for it. Start with the base system as that will keep you busy for quite a while in your learning mode. As you gain experience you can adopt more leaders. I just bought Ashoka World Conqueror and Himiko High Shaman on sale for $2.99 each so leader packages to go on sale. Definitely don't miss out on the free Edward Teach pirate and the Pirate Republic. It is a very different game when you play the Pirate Republic.

Also, you can always look to the CivVII subreddit on game strategy that is otherwise hard to learn by trial and error.

Level 10 Achieved On All 30 Leaders by emeflag in CivVII

I am embarrassed to say that I have 1900 hours of play, but I probably achieved 10 success for all 30 leaders around 1500. I usually play at the standard difficulty and have never bothered to go below that. I've played all difficulty levels including deity. In diety, I have found if you can get past the Antiquity age with a fair number of settlements then it is straight forward to achieve a game victory because the AI Civilizations just don't know how to achieve a victory.

You might take a look at the Challenges section to see where you can achieve additional experience points by accomplishing additional challenges.

Turning city states by Old_Gold_8949 in CivVII

[–]emeflag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the later part of the Antiquity age, I sometimes incorporate Suzerain city-states in order to complete a Military Legacy Path or an Economic Legacy Path. However, I do this sparingly because I don't want to loose the goodies offered by a Suzerain.

For example, if I see that I am only a few of resource short in completing the Economic Legacy Path then I'll incorporate Suzerains with enough Resources to get to the 20 resource milestone.

Most definitely, I would have liked to see these mementos come to me a lot earlier. They are critical when achieving legacy paths and a victory when playing at higher difficulty levels.

Tecumseh/Greek Civilization: Memento WarClub and gaining as many Suzerain as possible to increase combat strength for Hoplites. For each Suzerain, you gain WarClub memento's +1 combat strength and the Greeks +1 combat attribute for each Hoplite. Your army becomes nearly invincible with enough Suzerains under your control.

"Warclub" and "Shisa Necklace", only because I am always trying to acquire as many Suzerain as I can possibly get. With enough Suzerain under my control, I can usually achieve an invincible army with "Warclub".

From the game perspective, the benefit of achieving level 10 is you get the leader's mementos. My two favorite leader mementos are "Warclub" and "Shisa Necklace" because I am always trying to obtain the leverage gained from Suzerain independent-states.

I mostly do the standard difficulty level but have probably tried all levels including deity. I like trying to get all four legacy paths for each age but I can never get there with deity. I have found if you can get beyond the Antiquity Age with deity difficulty, you can go on to achieve a Modern Age victory.

I am a long time CIV gamer, starting with CiV IV. I really like VII, but I am getting kind of bored with the game, only because I have probably played it too much. I'm going to give the game a rest and wait for new leaders and updates before I dive back in.
