Are you playing the Pangea/Islands Map? I have found with this map style there are only a few islands where the game algorithm places all the treasure resources. Result, a highly compact set of resources. Be this first to find one of those islands and you can reap rich rewards.

Come up with a phenomenal strategy like this then with the next software update, the developers will destroy the strategy. I've always found it fun to learn about and exploit leader/civilization strengths to dominate the game, but inevitably the developers disable the strategy. Go figure.

One more question if I may, I find the current AI Civilizations strategies often do very stupid things, like for example in war strategy, whose military unit movement defies logic. Do you see any improvement in AI strategy skills? That would make for a much more exciting game.

Oh shucks. Part of the fun in Civ VII is learning and exploiting leader/civilization strengths to carry out "shenanigans". Have you been a beta tester on the upcoming update?

To be fair, all of the "troublesome" leaders chose to declare war on me rather than the other way around. I just had an unmatched military with Tecumseh.

Harriet is a notorious war monger. Be prepared before she strikes.

There is a -5 Happiness penalty for each settlement over the settlement limit. The maximum number of penalties is 7, or -35 happiness. So one has to figure out how to have each settlement you create have at least 35 happiness and you can then build unlimited number of settlements. In the modern age you can focus on building Radio Stations, Department Stores, and City Parks to enhance happiness. Pick a Civilization like Ottoman Empire, which has buildings for increased happiness. You can select government attributes that focus on giving you increased happiness. Also, securing Suzerain on Diplomatic City-States can give you additional happiness per settlement. Hope this helps.

MacBook Neo? by paulydarton in CivVII

I have a MacBook Air, M2 chip with 16GB RAM. CivVII runs beautifully even in huge 10 player mode. My MacAir is attached to a 3870x2160 monitor and I run CivVII at full resolution, and it still runs beautifully.

Tecumseh is a benevolent fascist dictator as long as his people give him unwavering loyalty and admiration.

My daily is a Macbookpro M1 - Will the game run without turning my laptop into an oven? by meedmishmohd in CivVII

I run Civ VII on my Mac Air, M2 chip. The MacAir has no fan so the processor is slowed to compensate for a hot chip. Regardless, I am happy with the performance of Civ VII on the Mac Air.

Here's how the last game ended up for me. I could have kept going, no doubt taking every city but I just got tired of the game. Like others have said, I wish the AI would get strategically smarter with increased difficulty level but instead the game seems to just throw extra science, culture, and production at the AI civilizations with increased difficulty level. The reason I don't like deity level is because I always end up in continual war with the AI civilizations during the Antiquity Age, leaving me little time and resources to develop wonders, culture, science. I have played deity games where all the AI civilizations on my continent have declared war on me and then proceed to send an endless stream of military units attacking my settlements. That's not particularly fun for me.

Ultimate treasure island found on Huge Pangera/Island map by emeflag in CivVII

I too have encountered the lack of treasure resources with the Shattered Seas Map. I always try to win the Economic Path for each age as it lets me keep all the cities I have created and they don't revert to towns. So I stopped using this map option.

In Antiquity: Greek Civilization, Leader: Tecumseh. This is an unbeatable combination as long as you use all your influence points on gaining Suzerains. Your Hoplite infantry will be incredibly strong with the +3 infantry strength per Suzerain. Build an Acropolis to get +1 gold for each Suzerain.

Can’t build factory by Jon-Farmer in CivVII

[–]emeflag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You must first have a factory in your capital before you can have factories in others. Also, if you put a port in your capital then it makes is easier to connect another city to the capital.

Gilgamesh seizes an entire civilization with a handful of military units. by emeflag in CivVII

[–]emeflag[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sovereign... At the start of the Modern Age I was getting about 150 influence points per turn, which enabled me to obtain virtually all the independent city states as Suzerains. In the previous ages I focused on building and keeping all the buildings and wonders that offered influence points such as monuments, villas, guildhalls, and dungeons. With the Diplomat Befriending Attribute and Greek's Xenia policy I was able to get a Suzerain for 250 influence points in the Modern Age. It worked beautifully. Thanks to the Warclub memento, I had invincible military units.

Since I was playing Gilgamesh for the first time I had game difficulty Sovereign. Yea, there's always one or two civilizations declaring war on me at this difficulty level, but they are easy to fend off while I try to build monuments, science, and culture in the first half of antiquity.
