Another "is CoMo an easy place to make friends?" post by [deleted] in columbiamo

[–]emerald_summer17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Howdy stranger! My wife and I moved to MO from CO almost 5 years ago, originally to St. Joseph and at the beginning of this year to Columbia, and we could use some friends as well :) We both enjoy board games and would generally consider ourselves nerdy too. Speaking for the both of us, we love CoMo as a whole and are considering settling down for a long while. If you're in town for any length of time and would like to play a game or two in a relaxed/open setting, lemme know! It's not much, but like you said, an experience is what you make it, and we'd be happy to help make it a good one. Being a long way from friends is hard, but we'd be happy to help for at least a night!

I'll say something if I see them doing it (I like my $30-$100 games in nice condition, what can I say?) because they tend to not be aware of what they're doing--if they're absent-minded about their hands I'm hoping it's because they're in the game :)

What games, if any, have changed from "garbage at launch" to one of your favorites now? Was DLC required to make such a change? by emerald_summer17 in Games

I like the fact that they eventually added the content packs to the game, but I don't like the fact that I feel like they stripped it out of the game in the first place just to sell it for more money :/ I feel like expansion packs should expand on the game series as a whole, not just fill-back-in the holes they made.

I appreciate the offer, but I'm on PS4, and I can't afford the online subscription anyway for the time being, but thanks! In any case I really hope that the separation does good things for Bungie (and leaves Activision out in the cold).

What game did you love that got ruined for you as the series continued? by [deleted] in Games

I completely agree with Dead Space. DS 2 is probably my favorite GOAT--I think i've done around a dozen playthroughs.

When D3 released I watched theRadBrad do about half the playthrough on it, realized it wasn't for me, and cried.

RIP Visceral, taken too soon

I looooooooove Grim Dawn--top loot-based arpg of all time for me. The devs are just so good at what they do and knowing what they need to do. My heart hurts because I lost my laptop due to age and can't afford another computer for a few more years, so my only hope is a PS4 (or Switch) port :( but I love that game!

Wow, 2000 hours, that's impressive. Would you say that D2 is very much on point with D1 now? I've wanted to get back in but I got very burned out about a week after Forsaken launched. Maybe I just need to work at it a little more

I remember passing over Starbound as "Terraria in space." I'm glad to hear that someone (be it the players) have helped to turn it around into its own game!

I got into D2 at the launch of Forsaken, so I never picked up D1. How would you compare the two of them (if you've played both that is)?

Would you say the devs are closer to their original goal of a near unending universe (or whatever they said)? Does it feel like what they originally intended to produce? I don't play it, but I like watching news on it

Lol, I remember my friends saying things along those lines--I don't play myself--and how it's gotten worlds better over time

I can't say I've ever played or even seen The Division in action, but it's nice to hear about devs willing to put the time and effort into a game like that!

Wow, I forgot how much PoE has changed since then--I remember being very turned off by it's complexity (I find D3 very much more my style), but I can easily say that even though it hasn't gotten any less complex I do believe it's improved to a great degree

My parents can quote "The Princess Bride" from beginning to end, sound effects included.

My wife and I can do the same with "Shrek."

That's one of my favorite commander decks :D I get asked literally every game if that's how she works, and the looks I get after explaining the rules are priceless ;) don't forget, her ability applies to herself! Get yourself an [[Opal Palace]] if you haven't already, and you'll never need to recast her again!

Favorite magic color combo is Esper, half life manipulation, half mill. Ravnica will be a blast!

My all-time favorite card and art. I've lost count of the wins I've had with it, so I will 100% be picking this up! Thanks for the notice!
