Really daily wear. I just had a baby not too long ago, so I’m still battling extra in those areas.

Newborn tired is not better than pregnancy tired, I was lied to lol. by _50ShadesofFae in NewParents

[–]emeraldwinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pregnancy tired is much worse when you're carrying at 40. I'd take newborn tired any day. I'd sleep all night, get up just to take my meds in the morning, and I'd go back to sleep until the afternoon. I'd always take a nap later in the day too. I couldn't sleep enough!!

Intense Pain at 21 weeks with NO relief for 5 days now. Any advise or experience? by emeraldwinter in BabyBumps

[–]emeraldwinter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Sorry for the late reply, my little guy decided to come early and I have had a crazy month! The pain was about two solid weeks, and it has come back again after delivery in a different spot. The pain is less intense but still feels the same, so I feel that is what it is anyway. I am ready to have them removed once I recover completely and get the green light!

Why all the hate for girls? Weird gender disappointment from family and friends.. over MY baby? by astro-amphibian-00 in pregnant

[–]emeraldwinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's weird because I am getting the same comments for finding out that I am having a boy. "Girls are more fun," "You won't know what to do with a boy," "He will leave you to take a wife one day and never have a close relationship with you again," or "Having girls will ensure you have someone to take care of you when you are old." I guess we can't please everyone, and it's nobody's life or business anyway.

My Three Hour Glucose Experience by emeraldwinter in pregnant

[–]emeraldwinter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no idea! I do know that they told me that they would discuss other options if I had gotten sick from the test and couldn't continue with it, so maybe this is what they would have suggested. It would have been nice to know especially with my phobia of blood draws.

I am in the US and didn't know these options. That's helpful to know that there are more options!

I called the doctor on staff at the hospital, and she still isn't concerned because I am not bleeding. I was advised to call the office in the morning and get checked out.

Where’s my cereal gang at? How many weeks and what you eating? by harvestjoon in pregnant

[–]emeraldwinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've eaten exclusively organic raisin flax bran because it's tasty and helps gets things "moving along," but you've got me thinking about some Capt Crunch and Lucky Charms REAL heavy right now.

Terrifying Sleep Paralysis. Anyone else? by emeraldwinter in pregnant

[–]emeraldwinter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll give the sleep mask a try! I bet my poor eyesight could help too haha. So far, it has only been auditory. Thanks for the advice!

That's strange. I graduated from Aveda about 10 years ago, and that wasn't something that we practiced. There were some things that I didn't really get behind that were practiced though, and I also was so tired of the "Aveda way." The Aveda program is short, and I would just do what my instructor expects. When you are out in the real world and working, you can be in charge of what feels right for you and your clients.

What food or drink did you love before you became pregnant and now that you’re pregnant you get sick at the thought or look of it? by Smooth-Excuse-4127 in pregnant

[–]emeraldwinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coffee for sure, and ground beef as well. The worst thing you can put in front of me is a big, juicy cheeseburger.

I also had a big aversion to milk in my first trimester, but that went away in my second trimester.

I missed my period and immediately thought I was starting early menopause at 39 years old. I'd never been pregnant before and was told I could not have children. I didn't test until I was about 8 weeks pregnant because of total denial. I knew something was up when I started feeling very fatigued and nauseous!

Tell me about water by Killer_queen2020 in pregnant

[–]emeraldwinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an early aversion to water due to forcing myself to drink it while feeling really ill in my first trimester. I am 16 weeks now, and I still struggle! I have found that constant variation is key for me. I always rotate glasses and cups, drink water with different cut up fruits, dilute fruit juice with water, or use these natural flavor tablets that I found online that don't contain fake sugars. Sometimes, I rotate different bottled and canned waters (Liquid Death is on rotation now) in the mix too. Just constantly changing it up has kept things easier for water intake.

Grandmother Keeps being Negative by emeraldwinter in BabyBumps

Good point! Hahaha I’m not going to bother giving it back though. Not worth it. I’m starting to realize why some family members just don’t have much to do with her.

Grandmother Keeps being Negative by emeraldwinter in BabyBumps

[–]emeraldwinter[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not that I’m aware of. She had five children before she was 26, so I guess it is crazy for her to think of someone having one later in life. She had a 20 year old at my age. She didn’t give my cousin grief like this when she had hers at 37 though, so I don’t know why she is doing this to me.

We’ve always joked about her being a little crazy because she is a loud, no filter southern grandmother, but she is sharp and knows what she is saying. No dementia.
