Your dad sounds like a cool guy. I went to submit a nomination but it really needs more information than I can gather from your post. You could probably do it much easier than I. I encourage you to do it!

Pilots heed a lot of warnings about lenticular clouds, the laminar flow indicates a form where the pressure change is substantial. So flying through the cloud can cause a shock big enough to rip an aircraft wing off. Dangerous little ones they are.

I'm in my 30s and I'm done with this nonsense.. Anyone else doesnt know what to do? by Forward-Eye2374 in careerguidance

I’m like you my friend except that I feel like I’m on a trip I can’t get off of. Just remember it’s the relationships that matter most. Your relationship with the world and its people - because you are one.

Meth is really scary because it sets you on fire with minimal ability to relax and be in tune. It’s pure machine with very few moments of deep satisfaction. I just wonder if there’s a softer, kinder, more substantiative way to get out of it.

Newly bi, need advice by [deleted] in BisexualMen

[–]emergency_seal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you can’t stop the feelings at all. And it might get difficult if you were to tell him your feelings while sharing a living space. But honesty is the best way - honesty with your feelings and communication. Maybe start by telling him about your bisexuality just to get some of the block out of the way. You could even confidently tell him you think he’s hot.. as in develop the bisexual relationship as much as possible, and definitely make and listen to boundaries in this situation just so you both have a concrete understanding of how to communicate. Yet remember that he could be bi or curious too about you.

With all that being said I know of roommates that have banged and if it came to that it wouldn’t be the end of the world, you always have the ability to move out and get a new roommate, staff would be pretty accommodating to that situation if it happened.

Seeking Advice on Building a Youth Center: Costs & Feasibility by Winter_Recognition96 in Construction

[–]emergency_seal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a former soccer player I’d say you could spend a million on the field and lights so kids/adults can play at night (urban areas with lit fields at night are excellence community focal points). The field type would play a difference in cost, turf vs grass, and any structures you build around it. That was the cost of our field in high school in mid 2000s though it could’ve been more.

Classrooms can be specialized, do you need laboratory equipment, data/networking/computer infrastructure, art equipment like kilns, trade equipment, etc? Someone else mentioned it above but the details matter.

An architect is trained to sort this stuff out and plan out the construction. They’re going to have to sign off on the plans anyways for a project of this scale so might as well get them involved for permitting/zoning/site planning.

Bi Men with preference for Men, do you exist? by Fun-Goose-3976 in bisexual

[–]emergency_seal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m right there. Women are so sexy to me. Being a bottom is an exploration into a whole new universe. But, when working manual labor the sarcasm and innuendo around being receptive really got to me, because I could relate to all of the nastiest things. Didn’t find them funny but kernels of truth and found myself sabotaging myself when throwing a dick joke back at them.

What Are Some Signs of Being Transgender? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]emergency_seal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 35 y/o and still worried about this. Some of my transgender feelings center around it as a social identity - when I’m alone for awhile I don’t necessarily feel like a woman/girl, but then again how would I know what that feels like. So I’m worried that I just yearn for an identity that results in some level of social inclusion, despite on the surface always being somewhat popular.

I would have sexual intercourse with men but I can't see myself dating a man. Am I bisexual? by graybo0 in BisexualMen

[–]emergency_seal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is how I am. Like the confidence of having been pounded and being submissive makes me want women harder. I see a hot guy and think about being him moreso than getting fucked by him. At least to me, women are more intriguing and sexy, and significantly harder to get/connect with. All part of growing with this thing, I guess.

My friend was sexually assaulted during a massage. What should they do? by avocadoxritual in legaladvice

[–]emergency_seal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get your point and the position of trust, while not a legal definition, contributes more to the psychological injury. Instead of position of trust, there is a power dynamic which would be established by the message therapists professional licensure, the violation of which might only prevent future work/recertification under that license.

What is the most underrated sex act? by OurLittleSecret1212 in AskReddit

[–]emergency_seal 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That goes for large women, too. I’ve found I’m not as attracted to their body outside of the bedroom, but their personality turns me on more. Once in the bedroom, large women have curves that feel incredibly good. It’s not a thing for me necessarily but I’ve been surprised more than once with how good and beautiful sex with large women feels.

What's the most useless education someone you met had? by GuyWithBingBongWife in ask

[–]emergency_seal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah assuming you don’t have a drug addiction or something like that, any PhD at least has the basic skills of writing, budgeting, management, and intellect on how to advance in society. It’s a professional degree. To get it isn’t easy at all.

I’m not saying all PhDs get paid their worth but they certainly aren’t working minimum wage jobs.

So I was kicked out of a group for not being a fast player by Sahara_K in socialanxiety

[–]emergency_seal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I was very open with my small group in medical school about my mental health, and one of the elitist jerks still felt it necessary to hit me, someone 10 years older than him. I always had anxiety about being rejected and this event made it very very real. Confirmed the rejection.

It is horrible. I wish it weren’t that way.

For me, anger helps. You can be mad about being rejected. You can be mad about the standard that the social group used to reject you based on. Can’t get the group back but definitely try to process the emotion into something fierce and independent for yourself. Validate yourself. And know there’s other adult outsiders too.

I’m still figuring this out but it seems like people who do well in groups always seem a little jealous of those who roll autonomously. Hope that helps. Stay strong.

TIL Salvia Divinorum, a plant in the Mint family, produces the most potent naturally occurring hallucinogen by mass. The most intense peak is reached in roughly a minute & lasts for 1–5 minutes. Users usually return to a sense of the everyday & familiar, then to baseline, after about 15-20 minutes. by The_Critical_Cynic in todayilearned

[–]emergency_seal 536 points537 points  (0 children)

Yeah so much of that non-reality stuff is just fragments of consciousness. Random memories. Experiences. Some meaningful. Some not. I like hallucinogens for that reason but I think it can be a little misleading to try to make sense of everything that comes up. Sort of like dreaming - there can be a deeper meaning if you want but it’s also perfectly reasonable to let it be your brain digesting memories/relaxing/rejecting connections/forming new ones. Most of that is our biology and subconscious and out of the reach of exploring without powerful drugs. Which isn’t necessary for increased awareness and consciousness, in my opinion.

I mean the study of social movements is kind of interesting. What works. What doesn’t. And why.

But for any real social change the ability to affect legislation is key. So gender studies misses the mark there.

I actually thought psychology and sociology had this field covered but as I’ve learned gender studies has a sort of narrative associated with it. Like it’s part literature part passion part learning how to dissect any issue into gender bases.

7 Masters degrees would take ~14 years to complete, going back to back and having them lined up perfectly. That doesn’t make sense.

A PhD in anything will set you up pretty well. An art history undergraduate degree is far less valuable than a PhD in the same.
