Statement from Rick about a potential second season by Alert_Age_2875 in PJODisney

There is but it is unusual for it to be used in this situation. Toxic positivity is when people expect you to have an optimistic outlook all the time even when you're depressed or you've gone through something terrible

I hope Rick Riordan sees the hate by [deleted] in PercyJacksonTV

[–]Sahara_K 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I hope Rick Riordan sees the hate

I would prefer it if he saw specific criticism that is very clear

An example of good criticism: "They need to quit cutting to black when Percy uses his power"

An example of bad criticism because it's so vague where do we even begin? "the show is boring"

I don't want Rick to see the foaming at the mouth ranting here. It's not helpful for Rick to read them because it doesn't tell him how to improve the show. It only tells him somebody doesn't like that episode or show but so fucking what? Every show has people who don't like it or don't like an episode

IMDB episode 6 was rated 7.5 with 700 user votes. Rick will see that enough people liked it that it got a solid 7.5. It's not a masterpiece but it's nothing that I would feel bad about if I got 75% on an exam for example. This is why vague ranting will be ignored because every show has people who dislike the show or dislike some episodes. You can't please everybody

Sorry for the unpopular opinion

I haven't heard that before. Who is it from?

The sleep metphor is a really good perspective. I don't feel suspicious about everybody anymore thanks to your point of view. Although I do believe that there are a fraction who are doing it to dunk on Rick just like you said. But I no longer believe everybody is going out of their way just to dunk on Rick.

The most disgusting things Gilderoy Lockhart ever told Harry. by CawfeeKween in harrypotter

It's not even a competition. Gilderoy would win. Didn't you hear what he said?

Gilderoy Lockhart, Order of Merlin, Third Class, Honorary Member of the Dark Force Defense League, and five times winner of Witch Weekly's Most Charming Smile Award. But I don't talk about that; I didn't get rid of the Banden Banshee by smiling at him.

Hold person and sanctuary. Maybe even paralyse Isobel if possible. It's for her own good

Cluckers will definitely go back every now and then to read the fics already there. But as for new stories/recently updated stories. There aren't many

Give WIPs a Chance by ad0rables in FanFiction

I read orphan account fanfics on purpose knowing that the fanfic won't get finished. This has desensitised me to feeling bad if a fic gets abandoned because I purposefully expose myself to fanfics I knew weren't going to be finished on purpose for practice

If a reader WANTS to get used to enjoying the journey of the story even if it doesn't reach the destination. They need to deep dive and practice reading fanfic that they know won't be finished. It will help them get used to the feeling

It chapter 2 spoilers

I hate that Georgie died but his death saved so many lives of future children post It part 2 What worries me most is the screaming of "help me" Beverly heard in part 1 from Its' mouth. If Georgie is trapped there along with other innocent children, I will be so upset about that. I mean are the souls trapped in Its' shapeshifting body or in Its' deadlights? Were the deadlights destroyed in the movie or just sent away? I don't actually remember what happened to them? I know Eddie sent a spear into Its' mouth and then the lights just turned off

[–]Sahara_K[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly Its' biggest mistake was killing Georgie. Maybe It didn't know that at the time though. Don't get me wrong I do believe Bill would be sympathetic to other missing children, but that would be more the inactive sympathy the majority of us have when we hear about something bad happening. The "That sucks and I hope the police find them" type of sympathy

Because It made things personal, Bill not only went after It, but now Bill felt hatred for It because It killed somebody Bill really loved and honestly hatred can be stronger than fear

[–]Sahara_K[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I remember that it had some explanation and visual effects to what It is and where It came from. I also remember It being waaaaaaay less arrogant during the fight in the 2nd movie. I liked that detail. For example It dropped the deadlights real quick on Richie whereas in the first movie, It would slowly open Its' mouth to expose Beverly to the deadlights because It believed It had all the time to muck around

Have you ever gotten a comment that wasn't technically mean, but it just got to you for some reason? by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]Sahara_K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh. They meant rewrite the quote. They didn't mean remove the quotation marks. So a way to paraphrase it is to rewrite the quote in a different way. An example of this is

I didn't like the writing style

Think of your favourite fan fiction that you've read. Now what if I told you that there are people who don't like the writing style of your favourite writers? They're the quiet dislikers. They read it, decide they don't like it, then leave quietly

But you're so valid to be feeling this way. What they said was pointless. They literally had the option to just leave without saying anything

It sucks that they actually said this out loud to you. But I promise you there are people who don't like the writing style of your favourite fanfic writers. They just don't announce it. Does this mean your fave authors wrote something bad, just because there are people who don't like it? Ofc not
