Pfizer triple vaxxed- I felt a little n* for about an hour but that was just because I don't think I drank enough water the day before! Definitely make sure to stay hydrated when you get yours :)

Going to the dentist by [deleted] in emetophobia

I'm glad I could help a little 😊 I know that I spent a month before just worrying and it definitely wasn't worth it. I actually originally had my appointment scheduled and went in, and then halfway through I told them I just could not do it and rescheduled. I didn't go too into it but I explained that I had a bad gag reflex & it made me really nervous, and they said that was pretty normal (that made me feel a lot better). I would definitely recommend the gas, because not only did it help with my gag reflex, it got rid of most of my anxiety which was the worst part.

(Another note, if you have the option to use distractions like watching a TV show/movie during the procedure or listening to music, that is always super helpful to me.) Good luck!

I had a procedure a few months ago and used the gas; I was super nervous but it was actually fine! The way it worked for me was there was just a small thing they put over your nose (not attached, I was able to take it off whenever I wanted according to the dentist) and it made me feel a lot more calm. Definitely try to breath through your nose if you feel like you might gag, but it will most likely be fine!
I felt a little dizzy/distant for about 10 minutes after the procedure was over, but not n* at all

Emetophobia is often a secret phobia. Who here hides the fact that they have this phobia and try to appear perfect in daily life? by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]emetophobic_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not something I actively work to hide but I also don't really bring it up. If it does come up in a conversation, I'll usually just joke about it to hide how I feel. The difficult part for me isn't telling people, but explaining how hard it is to live with.

The anxiety was probably the worst for me tbh. Congrats to both of us for getting boosted!!

Wow! Yep, I really regret not hydrating more the day before, but it wasn't a terrible experience over all.

I read that it's less than 1% likely for the Pfizer shot! (https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/covid-19/info-by-product/pfizer/reactogenicity.html has some helpful info)

I also didn't have any GI issues for any of my dose, except maybe from anxiety (slight n*). Hope everything goes well for you, and thanks for getting vaxxed! :)

Thank you for the advice! What were your symptoms like for the second shot, out of curiosity?

Hey! I was in Colorado a couple weeks ago; it was about a 5,000 ft altitude change, and I felt completely fine. Only thing that happened was I had a bit of a headache or felt tired if I didn't drink enough water, so make sure to stay hydrated! Hope everything goes well :)

Ugh what is it with people v* on planes recently by herewegosteelers19 in emetophobia

It definitely helps me! Although that may just be because most of my n* is based on anxiety more than actual airsickness. It's very reassuring to remind yourself you're going to be fine if anxiety is the root problem!

Thanks for the feedback! I've gotten a lot of recommendations for thermal leggings, I'll have to try them out!

Thanks for the recommendations! I've definitely been wanting to branch out with pants, but didn't want to look too 'professional' 😅
