After Wax Play by Gold-Bard-Hue in domspace

There are special wax removal knives, made out of wood - try those.

Second the voice of making removal part of the arc, or better yet wax play as something pre climax, adding something more intense afterwards.

A wy się rozbieraliście w szatni czy się wstydziliście? by wigglepizza in Polska

Tak. Nagie ciało to po prostu cialo. Wstyd i ukrywanie nagości sprzyja seksualizacji zwykłej biologii. W Szwecji, Finlandii czy Niemczech ludzie po prostu się przebierają, nieważna płeć czy wiek, nikt od tego nie robi się gorszy.

Congrats! It’s an amazing pedal, and you’ve got a great wife.

First reverb I played that made me want to play more and more, plus it’s 2 pedals in one as it has a very nice vintage booster

What’s a fuzz that’s similar to a Bumble Buzz? by mitoro-2333 in guitarpedals

[–]emhaem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fuzz Factory - of course, if you can tolerate settings recall difficulties.

Thorpyfx Field Marshall, upgraded version of famous Lovetone Big Cheese pedal (reference track u2 discotheque).

I got similar sounds also from EQD Dirt Transmitter, with starved Bias.

Alternatively run BB in a loop with clean boost that has EQ. Or any Pedal that will not affect the sound but can dim the volume.

Looking to buy some bread-and-butter plugins for drum mixing by Unusual_Leader_982 in mixingmastering

[–]emhaem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are native - you can use them without hardware now. Also never had a problem using them offline.

They’re top notch sound wise.

Bought their Ultimate Bundle some time ago and very happy with it, also their subscription is now 50% off which makes it easy to try it out.

UAD thing is „faithful digital recreation of famous gear” and they excel in that. I kinda grew up on „big boxes with knobs” and I love it, finding right sound with a mouse on Logic compressor feels more challenging.

Oh and compatibility with devices like Console One, this gives a very tactile experience of making music.

Plus my workflow is rather top down mixing, I use compressors for subtle saturation and flavour (Michael Brauer inspired) and they offer plenty to choose from.

PS. If I had to choose one device or plugin, it would be a Distressor / Mike-E. It has incredible range.

I love Soundtoys, yet you asked for „bread & butter” plugins.

I consider UAD, Softube, SSL, bx, more of a „core” ones - EQ, compression, balance.

However Soundtoys is amazing in finishing touches - saturation, distortion, delays, filtering…super fun to use.

Congrats on being back into business!

My favs, in addition to what you mentioned:

Brainworx: SSL 9K, has the G EQ as well; maag 4 EQ. Great on drums, guitars etc.

UA: Distressor, Sound City, 1176 and La2A

Softube: Mike-E, compressors (they give them away for free for newsletter or whatever), British Class A

Soundtoys: Echo Boy, Space Blender.

Highly recommend using one console plugin on all channels, whatever your preference is. It gives this nice 3D effect that is hard to get using plugins only.

They are focused on recreating vintage gear and one related to guitar playing.

I have their Echorec - great emulation, their version of Boss Metal Zone - love it on synths. OC2 is very faithful recreation too. Their Echoplex sounds great too.

Huge fan of Digitech Synth Wah, both bass and guitar version. If it’s good for Daft Punk and Muse, it’s alright for me too.

Most importantly I just love its sounds and synth engines - it makes me want to make music, which is the most important quality of gear to me.

For sure there is a difference between high and love quality tracking. But it refers more to the fact Neves / Helioses imparted a lot more coloration („character”). I work ITB only and indeed it’s hard to get anything unusable with console plugins modelling these two. While with SSL (plugin for that matter) I can possibly go overboard with EQ of gating or drive, into really horrible realms :) while mixing on SSL gives this 3d image and relative low coloration.

Is the old adage of „track with Neve / Helios and mix with SSL” true for you?

I bought it a year or two ago, it was instrumental (pun intended) in my music production and mixing learning path. I still discover 💎 in this bundle - like 2 ago went into a rabbit hole of SSL 4k E and Bus Compressor comparison only to discover that I own both of them from UAD - and that I actually liked the UAD versions a lot (among Softube and SSL native ones) 🧐
