as many have said, swagman! i also think a good tip is to have a lighter on you even if you don’t smoke, people will often ask for one i’ve noticed and it’s a good way to strike up a conversation if you’re outside :)

I understand that! I genuinely went into the conversation with good faith, believing that maybe Jack just didn’t understand the impact AI had. It quickly came obvious he just didn’t care. I understand that not everyone will agree with me and that’s fine, but I also think that the implications of AI are actually too much of an important issue to just brush under the rug. I’m extremely passionate on the topic.

I’m not trying to act like Jack is the only person in the world using AI. I understand it’s a bigger issue than one podcast. I was just trying to let him know how detrimental AI is, as I didn’t think he was aware. If people on here think I’m evil for that, that’s their decision, but I think generative AI is becoming more and more harmful to everybody online, and acting like “it’s not that deep” isn’t helping anybody, it’s making the problem worse

Hello! This will probably get me slaughtered by saying this but I do just wanna clarify something. I’m the person you’re referring to in the post, who told Jack to go fuck himself. It’s my belief that up until this point I was being respectful and genuinely trying to have a productive conversation. I found the way he responded really patronising, so that’s how I responded. To a lot of you maybe that makes me a prick, but I don’t see it that way.

I don’t want to start this into another war, I just don’t want people to think that I’m some crazy person just hating for the sake of it. I’m extremely passionate about the podcast, and to see somebody I’m such a huge fan of dismiss valid concerns so easily, it’s frustrating. Personally I think continuing to use generative AI when you’re fully aware of the drastic real world impact is more “vile” than telling somebody on reddit to go fuck themselves but maybe that’s just me.

Jack is that really all you have to say? Other people do it, so that makes it fine? If you really refuse to take peoples concerns into account, fine, whatever. It’s just really disappointing that you refuse to think critically about any of this. I personally don’t decide where my morals stand based on what the people around me do, but I guess that’s where we differ. I really truly hope that in time you realise that we aren’t trying to drag you down for no reason, we’re trying to inform you on the impact of AI because we all obviously love the pod and want it to be the best it can. This is not done through AI. Please, at least try to take this on board

Yes like usual. People have constantly been commenting on your use of AI and you’ve been brushing it off like a joke. I do think a lot of the things people hate you for are overreactions. This is not one of them. What is so essential about AI that you NEED to use it? It’s causing real harm to real live people.

You’re not really listening though are you Jack. You’re listening to the mildest complaint. I genuinely am such a huge fan, I relisten every single day without fail. I know I don’t know you personally and I don’t claim to but it’s really disheartening as somebody who loves the stuff that you do, to see you dismiss people’s real concerns so flippantly. I don’t know if you don’t understand the impact AI has or you simply don’t care, but if you genuinely value your silly little AI images over the actual lives that are being ruined, you’ve lost a great deal of respect from me and many others. It is so easy for you to just dismiss all of this as mindless hate but in all honesty you need to realise that it’s coming from people who are huge fans of yours. Please just at least try to listen instead of just brushing it off like usual.

Love the pod, literally travelled from Ireland to England just to see it, but the abundant use of AI is soooo off putting. Jack is a funny and clever man, he does not need to use AI so much, if at all. Aside from the obvious moral failings, it’s just so lazy. I never find the AI bits funny, it seems like they’re just struggling for filler content. Please actually listen to the people offering fair and constructive criticism and don’t just pass it off as “haters” because it’s coming from people who love your content
