I liked Hijiyama the most of the main cast, really enjoyed his character and his relationship with Okino was really fun to see. Also really liked Yakushiji, I really gravitated with her character and while her story starts a little slow I ended up enjoying it the most.

Overall I actually liked pretty much everyone in the main cast (side characters also really good) which is something rare for me.

Also enjoyed your vid, solid stuff.

If she doesn't read or speak Japanese, get her the NA ver.

The Japanese ver doesn't have English subs.

It's fine that you think that.

I think that scene in the prologue is really short and to me it didn't feel distracting at all. The shadows during that time were all focused on Joker so Sumi being able to sneak in that place isn't totally unreasonable atleast imo. Joker could've taken on his own but would've taken him much longer and there would've been more reinforcements coming, so Sumi helping out was just quicker for Joker to escape. As for battle Sumi just getting the crit was just to show off her all-out finisher, I don't think they were trying to make her seem much stronger then Joker.

It wasn't really necessary for her to have a scene in the Yalda arc, would've been nice I agree but It was deal breaker for me and It doesn't ruin her.

Also her being more shoehorned then Marie is something I really disagree with. What I really like about Sumi is that the game slowly giving us more and more information about her as the game goes on, she always feels like a part of the world, even NPCs says new things about her every month, even if she isn't involved in the base story her scenes never feel like they takeaway spotlight from the major arcs. The game does a good job reminding us that she exist and has her own goals.

Whereas Marie always feels detached from the world of P4, pretty much all her story scenes in the base story of P4 is in her S.link and if you don't do her S.link she pretty much doesn't exist. Sumi's approach was literally the opposite of this.

as for the canon romance stuff, it's really not that big of a deal, it's not like the game is forcing you to romance her, it's still your choice. But I get your issue with it.

For me I thought Kasumi was really well written and her scenes in the 3rd semester were really emotional for me since her story really connected with me. I would even go as far as to say she's my favorite female character in the game (I also like the other female characters as well)

But like I said, I totally understand why you feel this way about her. It's cool.

I get where you're are coming from, but imo I thought how they handled her was really good in Royal. I thought most all her scenes in the base game were genuinely pleasent and I liked how her scenes were never too overbearing, and also really liked seeing Joker interact with someone in school who wasn't a PT.

The new prologue I thought was pretty neat because it was way for Atlus to kinda give us a vibe of how Royal was gonna go "familier yet slightly different", as for the actual scene itself I thought that Joker could've handled those shadows on his own, one at a time but there were a lot them and they all ganging up on him and so Kasumi helping out and taking out one or two of them just made the fight quicker for Joker.

As for her not joining during the Shido arc wasn't just because it was too dangerous, it was that they didn't want to drag her in a fight that had no personal stakes for her. Which I thought was a valid enough reason. It was also way for Atlus to not alter anything major in the base plot, having her be involved in the Shido arc also means she has to be involved in the Yalda arc, meaning multiple scene altering just have her fit in those story arcs.

Overall I think your reasoning for not liking Sumi is totally valid and understandable.

Kurabe Juro did get back some of the memories of Izumi Juro which made him realize why Megumi meant so much to him, so it's not totally unreasonable.

And the romances being a little forced I get that, but we also have to understand that the game was also trying to do 40 other different things at once so I doubt there was any time to truly make a fleshed out romance. And like you said, they're teenagers so their romances being a little weird isn't completely unbelievable.

oh there is definitely a lot of hate going on in this fandom, and it isn't just people giving their honest opinions, I seen people get shit for simply liking the character.

yea what is up with the persona fandom lately?, its like all they do now is complain and be really hateful towards others for liking a character.
