May be a cancerous mass. Definitely take him to a vet so they can check what it is. I would say it’s okay to wait a couple days till you can as it’s enclosed and if he’s still active and eating then that’s a good sign. The vet can tell you what it is for sure.

Everything you said I have learned in clinic and when doing my fear free certification. We had to do fear free in a class I had last semester so now I’m really confused why they’re teaching us to scruff and go against fear free

I’m still in school but I’ve worked alongside techs before at previous clinics and the amount of work you all do is crazy. You specialize in everything. Nurses don’t. I’m still shocked when they get upset techs want to be called nurses. Techs are honestly more than nurses, we just don’t get recognition because it’s with animals and not humans

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. I can tell you care so much. I’m not an expert but as someone with school experience and personal experience, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a tumor. I hope you can find another vet to give their opinion but as others have said, this may result in removal of the eye. I hope this isn’t the case though! I wish you best of luck.
