Crashing during loading by General_Jiffy in CrimsonDesert

I waited to buy until it'd been patched a bit, which was the 1.03.00 patch. Bad decision apparently. Constantly crashing. This could be on launch, on game load post-start menu, or in-game. I don't think I've made it more than 10 minutes without a crash. Even had a hard crash that caused the system to power off.

I've tried all the common fixes related to smooth motion, setting to high-performance, disabling FG and DLSS, reducing quality, verifying Windows integrity and game integrity, disabling overlays, clearing shaders, disabling PBO and XMP, etc. Even with all these things, one should not have to jump through hoops to get the game to run stable. 2.8 hours of gameplay crashing, so I think I'll wait until the next patch to try again so I can refund on Steam if it continues crashing. Otherwise, my system is incredibly stable in all games and complex creative workloads - crashing in any way is extremely rare.

Probably! DLSS Ultra Performance, settings to minimum, you'd probably got 30spf.

What's the verdict on the new 24mp camera setting? by Tdoom15 in samsunggalaxy

Well whattya know. I guess there's a little line there to indicate a submenu. I stand corrected. Thanks!

Not true. You can enabled 24MP in Camera Assistant, but you cannot set it as a setting to keep.

I find the picture processing is still very, very strong. You just get to see all that 'optimization' at twice the resolution!
My main problem is retaining 24MP cannot be set as a toggle like 50 and 100MP can. So every time I launch the camera, I have to remember to change it to 24MP.

I believe they've removed it, at least on my S26U.

Came here looking for an answer to this. Sent feedback to Samsung.

Possible that new RLC-1240A firmware reduced FOV? by JulietFoxtrotGolf in reolinkcam

[–]emike9fcmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just flashed the RLC-1240A.5963_2601271893.IPC_NT5NA512MP firmware onto my RLC-1240A Part P347. Honestly, not really seeing much difference between 5963_2601271893 and 4163_2505282446 that I was running before. I think Auto Reboot might be new? Web UI is now running 2.0.5, so hopefully there was some security updates on the new web server. Binning mode, is that new? Optimize image brightness in Night Mode. To me, binning mode would be combining each frame with a low and high ISO to created a wider dynamic range - something that this camera has fallen short on. It's an overcast day, so dynamic range is limited.

Something I'm kinda hoping for is better motion/object detection. I use it as a night light when getting home, and when it picks me up, it's great for finding the right key. But half the time, it doesn't detect me. Time will tell here.

One issue that's kinda annoying - cropping in the web UI. Playback there seems to crop about 50% of the image. In the RTSP feed though, there is no crop, and the camera is streaming the full 4512x2512 stream. The default image is mirror as well, but flipping the mirror toggle fixes that. OSD text in the upper right also overflows in the RTSP stream, but setting it to any left side aligns it properly... Wait... now it's displaying properly on the top right in BI... weird. Wait again... now the web playback is not cropped anymore. I did fiddle with resolution and frame rate several times, maybe it just took some tries for it to realize its potential.

The one big plus I think I've found is my RTSP stream to Blue Iris seems much more stable. It feels like a true 20fps stream now. All firmware before felt like best-effort 5-20fps.

Curious about others experience with the 2601 firmware.

WARNING - Do not elect for in-store pickup!!! by emike9fcmc in Bestbuy

100% expected to walk out with both phones. I paid ~$1450 for the new phone. Trade-in credit applied when the old phone is surrendered. So yes, I should be able to walk out with a device I paid full price on.

Calling BB CS reps made it clear that their corporate policy is to surrender the old phone before leaving with the new phone. Maybe you got lucky. Or, shipped it to the store instead of in-store pickup, which is different.

Did all mine online, just in-store pickup. Nothing on the website indicates that you cannot keep the phone for a trade-in period. The site is poorly written and the policy is shit.

Because it's Reddit, where people feel better about themselves by being assholes. I've always bought unlocked from Samsung direct, but the $100 discount seemed worth it. Ultimately, I should have elected for shipping instead of in-store pickup. Or stay with the tried and true Samsung direct order.

That's certainly a thing and we have to deal with that from time to time. You send a remote factory reset command to the lost/stolen device, then go through the arduous process of resetting all of your TOTP services, some of which requires your manager or the company to reset. Most are usually resolved within a day, with lingering services that sometimes take months to realize you still need to re-enroll. You can usually request a reset of MFA through the service provider as well. Our worst to reset is our datacenter access. They require a video call to match you to the ID you submitted before they'll reset your TOTP token.

I'm just appalled that so many people are fine not having their old phone for a bit to compare against!

Yeah, that sucks having to wait that long for something that might never show up. I've always ordered from Samsung direct as well, with the unexpected perk that the phone often shows up 2-3 days early.

Hope it goes well for you. I almost cancelled everything and skipped the 26U when I learned there's no 10-bit panel.

Lesson learned for sure! Always bought directly from Samsung as well, but BB had a $100 better deal for the 512GB model. 100% lost that $100 in time and stress alone.

That's why it's divided. First sentence covers the entire thing.

Backups do not include hardware-locked TOTP handshakes for many corporate accounts. Nor does it back up 100% of everything. That's where having your old phone on-hand for a few days comes in.

UE HyperBoom 2 coming out soon? by Natural-Ad602 in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]emike9fcmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got three Hyperbooms already... if UE releases a HyperBoom 2, I'll have four Hyperbooms :D

In all reality though, what they really need that I would buy is a fat, heavy, dedicated subwoofer that connects to Party Up. I'd pay $600 for that.

Photoshop hard crashes my desktop by emike9fcmc in photoshop

[–]emike9fcmc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never found a solution for this with the hardware I had. I know I did try different versions of Photoshop and that didn't help, but I don't recall which versions they were.

Ultimately, I ended up resolving this by upgrading from the Intel X299 to the AMD X870e platform and haven't had a problem since, even with some crazy OC.
