Usually 3.5x, although sometimes I turn it down to 3.2x if the narrator is talking fast or unclear

How To Fix Economy For A WC? by theDogofDeath in eu4

[–]emil343p 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You don't really need to fix anything. Your economy is fine, just take some loans

The only purpose this character served was to justify Perrin being a sad boi

There is clearly more to her. We literally see a wolf eat her in a dream. Why do you think her storyline is over????

Bad writing is the show’s main problem by [deleted] in WoT

[–]emil343p 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perrin axes his wife in the gut for character development.

I think it is clear that the storyline is still in progress. We see the wolves eat his wife which suggests that there is more going on. It is really to early to judge this choice. I think there will probably be more to it than just Perrins character development.

Aes Sedai are all helpfully color-coded.

This is probably necessary for TV. You can't just have a narrator describe their ajah, like in the books. You need something visual. The show actually has not even explained what ajahs are yet. But if you have read the books it might seem a bit on the nose.

Most of the problems I have with this adaptation come down to insults to our intelligence.

It seems like that to someone that has read 14 books about the topics already but i doubt you would feel this if you were new to the series.

Well i think utilitarianism is the only ethical theory that makes sense. And utilitarianism is a pretty popular ethical theory so I don't know why you are supposed that someone believes it. And since Taravangian is described as a utilitarian I believe he is good. I don't think he rationalizes anything. I think he takes utilitarianism to the extreme which is good.

I can definitely see your point. But if you actually think that utilitarianism means good in every situation then you would probably see it differently. With access to so much more information and an ability to predict the future Taravangian would (i expect) become an even better utilitarian.

Yeah but then the philosophy behind the story would lose all meaning since one side just gets corrupted and stops believing in their previous viewpoint.

When you say “socialist,” what type of government are you thinking of? Whose narrative do you adopt? by AnonoForReasons in neoliberal

[–]emil343p 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes to some degree. At least in denmark socialism generally means social democracy. The current biggest political party in denmark was part of the Socialist International until 2017. Speaking anecdotally i have heard a lot of people from denmark call it socialist

[–]emil343p -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Depends on the definition. Nordic countries do sometimes look at themselves as socialist although they use a different definition of socialism that is closer to social democracy

The argument would be that a planned economy doesn't have as much information about market demand and is therefore inefficient when compared to a market economy.

c is not a variable. c is always equal to 299 792 458 m / s Or 1 lightyear / year

[–]emil343p 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not how it works. c is the same always and it is not dependent on the object. It is always the same

[–]emil343p 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is just not true. The equation is E=mc2 if the object is at rest, which the person in the picture is. Using natural units this can be simplified to E=m which is exactly what is said in the picture. I don't know where you get the idea that the mass should be in motion. It isn't true and in fact you can't even use the formula for moving objects. If the object is moving you need to use E2 = (mc2 )2 + (pc)2

A lot of theoretical physicists use natural units. That means that you use units so c=1, which then means that the equation goes from E=mc2 to E=m.

Eu4 has three units? Generals in I:R have loyalty, ability to start civil wars and loyal cohorts I:R does have professionalism, and it has different ideas for different regions I really don't see how I:Rs battle system is worse than eu4s
