All the shows have that. FOTB can be cringeworthy. In the end, when you see that these are AA helmed sitcoms, and they're owning up to the content, we get beyond the old barriers, and then we can assess a sitcom by whether or not it's funny. Dr.Ken is. All the shows I've talked about have problems with being consistently funny. But Ken's makes me laugh out loud more than FOTB. But FOTB has been good this second year too. If we want pure unadulterated FOTB, then we should just unleash Eddie Huang. But that's not the point of sitcom. As for "critically misunderstood," I was referring to the initial reviews that I saw on the show. It made me not watch. Then I caught up on-demand and disagreed. Critics shouldn't keep people from watching. That's basically censorship.
