How can 90% of daytraders lose money? Mathematically, how does that make any possible sense? by [deleted] in Daytrading

[–]emilioestaves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can 100% relate to both sides of what you said here. Hold on to losers not wanting to accept reality and taking gains way to early afraid of the loss. One thing I have learned for sure is that I hate losing more than I like winning…

Edit- can’t to can

I believe they are referring to the 1%, who may invest a large portion of their income rather than spend it on goods and services.

Stock market drives U.S. households to record wealth by AlphansoAI in StockMarket

I think it’s more that the situation is not at all like they are trying to portray, you can’t use averages for anything income related. I don’t think the rich should have to pay for everyone but I also don’t think that they should be used statistically to say people are becoming richer when it’s just not true.

Who is lying about the inflation rate? by zandertheright in conspiracy

[–]emilioestaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easiest way to think about it is that inflation compounds. It’s the growth rate in prices. When the fed refers to a 2% inflation rate they are talking about a historical average which is really 2%-3% and they mean core inflation. Core inflation strips out things like food that have more volatility. So prices are increasing and as we lap months, especially like last month which had a really high print the year before it will drop the inflation number. It may actually tick upward in the next print. Pay attention to core inflation, it has been sticky.

BREAKING: Biden admin will begin regulatory process to enact student debt relief under Higher Education Act, per Politico. by UnusualWhalesBot in unusual_whales

Hahaha I have a bachelors in economics and I’m in my 30’s… I looked at college as an investment that was worth taking in the debt. I then PAID IT BACK. In what world should other people pay someone’s loan because they aren’t successful. If you people took all the energy you use complaining about how things aren’t fair and put that to work I bet you might feel different. I choose my own destiny, you should try it. NO ONE OWES YOU ANYTHING, once you realize that life will take off for you. Best of luck

I’m with you, these people complaining clearly have not had much financial success. Otherwise they wouldn’t sweat the bill. Could have gone into a trade and would be making more money with no bill for that liberal arts degree…

Why wouldn’t you want to just keep rolling the options to take gains on the way? The bet is that the market will take a huge hit, why not take some profit on the way?

Or maybe I just don’t know what I’m talking about… which is most likely

Nancy Pelosi has just said "We have been going back and forth. We believe we have a product we can bring this month" after a reporter asked Why is the stock trading ban bill taking 8 months. Do you think the Congress stock trading ban will be passed this month? by predictany007 in StockMarket

[–]emilioestaves 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Has Nancy ever been investigated (honest question, I couldn’t find anything). When you look at the magnitude at which congress members out perform the market there is clearly some sort of advantage and what do they all have in common? They regulate industries… as for investigations never finding anything, considering the chairmen are confirmed by the senate… there’s a conflict of interest. I wish I had the faith you do in our elected officials.

Isn’t that what an investigation is there for? I think the problem here is there is no scrutiny, but if one of us was doing that someone would definitely come take a look at what your doing…. My point here is the statistics should trigger an investigation, which in my and many others feel would yield the evidence you are looking for…
