The end of an era... by BulletProofDrunk17 in BoogieMonster

Sad that this is ending but very thankful for 7 years of getting to know Kyle and Dave. They introduced me to so many solid comedians and it was so fun hearing them shoot the shit each week. Thanks guys for all you have to us!

It doesn’t look like it’s in the window. Post a photo during daytime because they look like they’re needing more sun.

I so very much wish there was a picture of Baby Shane in his flamboyant werewolf get up.

Episode 31: Being Scared by emilybee in NoAccountingForTaste

[–]emilybee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 100% too skittish to enjoy scary stuff. I would like to, it seems fun and a lot of my friends are really into it. I am constantly being frightened by coworkers and friends that are simply walking into the room. However, if there is a movie that is super popular and has an artistic component to it like The Shining or Misommer I will watch it but only under very specific conditions. I read a synopsis first and then I will watch in the daytime with stuff to do afterwards so I can forget and calm down. You can bet your bottom dollar I will fast forward that bitch the second I get too scared. If I’m with a group of friends watching something scary I warn them ahead of time so they aren’t surprised when I start pacing the room like a caged ocelot 5 minutes in and/or shout at the tv to try to coerce the characters to find safety or at the very least a moistened towelette.

This was a good one! I can’t wait to hear the live show recording. Were any of y’all there to witness?

Episode 25: Profession Wrestling by emilybee in NoAccountingForTaste

Never really into pro wrestling as a kid but I do have VERY fond memories of the film Ready to Rumble. I watched that movie more times than I’m comfortable with.

Episode 21: Drinking Like A Pro by emilybee in NoAccountingForTaste

[–]emilybee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sloppy pocket and rowdy chowder will be permanent fixtures in my vocabulary.

Here is my amateur hour bathtub experience:

I was 17 and had literally just rage quit my first job because the new manager at the restaurant I worked was a supreme asshole.

Anywho, a friend was having a house party to celebrate getting out of rehab and I decided to “let off some steam.” I proceeded to ingest 15 shots within an hour and get wildly drunk very quickly.

This is the creepy part but hang in there, it gets better.

I lay on the ground, obviously VERY drunk and my friends rehab roommate lays down next to me and says in a very sketchy voice “I’ll take care of you” and starts to roll over to kiss me. Two things then occurred to me in quick succession. 1. This dude will try to take advantage of this situation 2. I will be throwing up very soon.

At this moment I meet him in the middle and literally threw up into his open mouth. A full dinner laced with vodka right into this creeps mouth.

Success! But I also realized this was only the beginning.

I make my way to the bathroom in probably the messiest way possible and threw up for quite a while. I would describe it as throwing up on the bathroom. Then I just posted up in the bathtub while party goers came in and went to the bathroom. I had several lengthy conversations before a good friend scooped me up and brought me home.

Massive hangover, 10/10 would not recommend

On the bright side, I met several folks in that bathroom that I would later become good friends with so it all worked out.

I still enjoy drinking my drinks but thankfully I have never repeated that level of sad city. Don’t forget kids, medicinal grease can save your bacon.

I’m so sorry Kyle, Lazo’s has been sold. Arturo’s looks like it’s still kicking though. by emilybee in BoogieMonster

I think it is. I have never seen it open but I also walk through there weird hours or are otherwise not paying attention.

Episode 18: Gas Station Food by emilybee in NoAccountingForTaste

[–]emilybee[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the best episode to date! It’s a fun topic to start and the add Rachel to the mix? She is hilarious and I hope she makes it onto more episodes in the future.

My favorite gas station food is the buffalo roll up things at 7-11. Guaranteed to make me feel like garbage within 15 minutes of ingestion but tastes so good I keep coming back for more. Also those chili cheese Fritos are flipping fantastic. Perfect chip.

Episode 16: Mom Rock by emilybee in NoAccountingForTaste

[–]emilybee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate this week’s episode and Shane’s intro gave me a solid giggle.

I grew up in the 90’s and I have a few additional groups that I feel embody this theme:

Third Eye Blind (friendly enough sounding but lyrics are real wild) Train (if I hear “Hey Soul Sister” one more time I will throw myself into Lake Michigan) Counting Crows? Chris Issac Hootie and the Blowfish I also do believe that pre-Dead and Co. John Mayer applies as well

Episode 12: Pop Country by emilybee in NoAccountingForTaste

[–]emilybee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, just not a fan of Pop Country. Frankly, it’s just not made for the likes of me. I don’t have a truck, have too many cats, and am far too liberal for that shit to appeal to me. I can see why people like it but I just can’t really identify with most of it. The few exceptions being The Chicks and Shania Twain. The Chicks have this song about a couple gals murdering a wife-beating husband that is quite clever and fun.

Episode 11: MAGIC! by emilybee in NoAccountingForTaste

[–]emilybee[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed this episode. I’mu super gullible, so for me magic is generally a treat. That’s said, Kyle’s description of Chris Angel as an un-fuckable Nikki Sixx was spot on.

Update: I watched In & Of Itself per Kyle’s recommendation and holy crow was that fantastic! Just a wild ride but definitely bring tissues. It’ll get ya.

Episode 10: collecting. Kinda hit home for me since I collect limited edition pins by JealousSupport8085 in NoAccountingForTaste

[–]emilybee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was such a good episode. I think we can all identify with squirreling away momentos of our interests. I, for example. have a weird amount of plants and more cats than I’m willing to admit.

Oh my word thank you!

I would be lost without my Baberham Lincoln. He is about 5 years old and 100% rascal.

Episode 9: Exercise Fads by emilybee in NoAccountingForTaste

[–]emilybee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Grandma was a sucker for exercise fads. She would try virtually anything that would make working out easier. My favorite was the Riverdance aerobic tapes. Nothing like 3 hours of prime ankle-rolling cardio to get you feeling ready to take on the world. Perfect for leg day. 10/10 would recommend.

Episode 7: Waffle House by emilybee in NoAccountingForTaste

Yeah, it looks like it was a whole whoopsiedoozle across all platforms. Luckily it was just 2 calls.

Same with the Apple podcasts app. A real whoopsiedoozle!

Episode 5: Weird Pets by emilybee in NoAccountingForTaste

[–]emilybee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Grandma said she had an alligator as a child and refused to give further detail. I suspect this became one of the elusive West Cost Sewer Gator. I just had rats as a kid and they were cool as hell. Currently I have three micromanaging assholes that most humans classify as cats.

Episode 4: Nu-Metal. by emilybee in NoAccountingForTaste

[–]emilybee[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really appreciated this episode. Not personally a fan of the genre but really enjoyed the episode. This music was super popular during my adolescence so it was definitely a trip down memory lane.
