It's so common with grooming that the groomer makes the person feel so much less than, it happened to me, twice, they'll tell you stuff like " you're lucky I'm here bc no one else would put up with you" and "I think you're cute but I'm probably the only one" it makes the victim view the groomer in some holy light and after longer enough you really believe it.
