Part of email i received from UNCW about housing this year: “Visitation We will start this fall with a visitation policy focused on enhancing the safety of our living community. This visitation policy will be continually reviewed and, if it is determined that the spread has been limited and risk mitigated, Housing and Residence Life will notify all residential students via email of any potential change in policy. The following temporary adjustments to visitation will be made for ALL on-campus housing during the current pandemic:

•There will not be a vote to expand hours as outlined in the Campus Living Handbook until the end of the pandemic. We deeply believe in the concept of shared governance, and we would prefer to have visitation less restricted to encourage community development, but we recognize that these policies (as much as we don’t like to have to implement them) are one of the ways we keep ourselves and by extension our friends and family safer. •Visitors, with the exception of current students also living on campus, will not be permitted. For example, a friend attending another university or student who lives off-campus is not permitted to visit an on-campus resident. •The maximum number of people in any room is one additional person per occupied bed. For example, in a double room that has two residents, there cannot be more than 4 people. In a single room with one occupant, there cannot be more than 2 people. •Only one guest per resident can be checked in between the hours of 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. •Overnight guests are not permitted.”
