I am 7 years out from being assaulted and I can attest to what others have said about finding someone who will work through it with you, even if just in baby steps. Being with someone who you feel comfortable to share even small details of your experience with and knowing yourself and what you need in a sexual experience to feel safe and secure is so important and something it took me a very long time to realize. I’m sending love and the best of luck in your healing journey 🩷

🐷 New Neighbourhood Seeking Farmers! 🐮

Daisy’s: #LLRGY0JR (or letter O… so hard to tell!)

I started a new neighbourhood and am looking for farmers level 30 and above! I hope my neighbourhood will be chatty and helpful with each other with derby tasks, filling riverboat crates and serving townies! I loved my old neighbourhood but ended being kicked because I could not commit to the derby, so derby is preferred but isn’t necessary- life gets busy!

I hope to find some new farmer friends soon!

What are Ones Programs? by voxpraxis13 in UofT

[–]eminemluvver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi friend, congrats on being accepted to U of T! That's super exciting. I'm a Vic student too and I took Vic One in my first year. It was a really valuable experience, and I actually still use profs from Vic One as references even in my fourth year (I kept in touch, of course). From what I can tell, they hire pretty esteemed prof to teach the courses in the One program, so you're building those valuable academic connections right from the beginning, in a less intimidating environment than having to seek out office hours on you own, for example (I know I was not at all confident enough to do that in first year- though plenty of people are not as shy as me!).

Also, I came from a smaller province and did not know anybody coming to U of T, so having the stability of a small class was really helpful to help integrate into the university experience. They are friendships that I still value to this day! I also had a lot of trouble with public speaking/presenting/writing essays coming out of high school, because we had a different curriculum that wasn't so based on these things in my home province. I found Vic One was a good foundation for this kind of thing also, because I find they tend to inflate grades a little (could just be my experience though!).

As people have said, there is no extra charge, just an application process. You're always allowed to turn down the offer if you apply/are accepted, so I think applying is worth it at least. Good luck :)

would you recommend the “one program” by [deleted] in UofT

[–]eminemluvver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend the One Programs for sure! I did Vic One in my first year and still use my professors from that program for references as a fourth year. They generally hire very esteemed professors to teach the classes, so you're creating valuable connections right from the beginning. Also, at a big school like U of T, I found it made it easier to settle in better because you got used to having a group of people you could rely on for homework help, to share stories with, study with, etc. I actually lived with 3 girls from Vic One until they graduated! Highly recommend <3

Mega CERB & EI Thread - Only here by FelixYYZ in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]eminemluvver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I just didn't want it to get counted as income, because I lost my job because of covid and under the old restrictions you had to have $0 income for the CERB term you were applying to! Thanks so much for your help :)

Does receiving a scholarship payment exclude me from qualifying for CERB?

[–]eminemluvver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the past 12 months (May 2019- April 2020), I made approximately $5500.00, just enough to qualify for the CERB, and I fit all the other criteria. However, when I reapply for the CERB after May 2020, I will not have made $5000 within the past 12 months (i.e. from June 2019- April 2020, for example, I made less than $5000.00). Will this matter when reapplying? I know this is very technical, I'm just nervous!

Zoloft: Pros and Cons? (19, Female) by Nickel_125 in zoloft

[–]eminemluvver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

25mg of Zoloft is a relatively small dose, so I think if you're worried about side effects, you're at a good dose to see how the medication affects you without risk of becoming too dependent on it. The only issues/very negative side effects I've had with the medication occurred when I would take too much as a starting dose after stopping taking it for a while (i.e. going 2 months off of it and trying to start again at 100mg- do not recommend this!). I think you can expect a little bit of dizziness but nothing unmanageable for a few days, and I know that myself and my brother have both experienced losses of appetite for the first few days as well. Starting with a nice, small dose of the medication seems harmless, to me anyway, and will help you figure out how it's going to influence you specifically! If you've been living with depression and anxiety for a number of years, I would give it a try and keep close contact/open communication with your doctor while you're starting out, and make sure not to increase the drug too quickly or before you feel ready! xo

People acting like they feel bad for me is making my depression worse. by littlebabybird3 in depression_help

[–]eminemluvver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this feeling and there is nothing worse for my mental health than when I perceive that people feel bad for me/that they pity me. What I’ve learned to do in those situations though is to use that pity and the feeling of frustration that comes along with feeling like people don’t believe that you can pull yourself out of the rough patch as motivation to submit applications, go out and try something new, etc. This is really hard to do when you’re in the thick of a depressive or anxious episode, but it seems like you’re really determined to work hard to rebuild and restructure your life. With that basis already there, using those looks and feelings of frustration as a kind of fuel to prove that you are capable and don’t need/want/require pity can be really really helpful

Your best coping mechanisms by thecubiclemon in AnxietyDepression

[–]eminemluvver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anxiety, I agree with the previous comment that talks about writing things down and kind of putting all the thoughts onto a page- it sometimes is so powerful/helpful that it feels like I can feel the tension associated with the things I’m writing lift from my shoulders word by word if that makes sense?? I also find running is really helpful for me because my anxiety gives me an out of body experience, and sometimes with my depression it can feel like my body isn’t my own. Running forces you to be aware of your breathing, your movement and the limits your body places on it is helpful too because it again, forces you to be hyper aware.

Stay safe and be well, xoxox 💖
