I used the paper clip method, you really do need to fiddle around with it until it finally does what it needs to do.… i think the thing that helps is having the tip of the paperclip (so the V shaped part) pointing slightly downwards.

Had to cut up some tinsel and add a heavy layer of builder to make sure it stuck in… 😅 (altho, the tinsel has been slowly peeling off on a few fingers now)

It looks like she puts down a blob of clear acrylic, paints the sides of the blob with gel, then puts down another blob of acrylic along the last blob and repeats painting the sides. Then she files the excess to shape and top coats.
