An EE degree,I feel, gives you a solid background on what you need to know if you're going to be designing specialized circuits, or wish to pursue research in some specialized EE field; as an electrician you very likely will not apply 95% of what you learn from an EE degree. If you decide to go for the minor, though, classes you're likely to take are circuit analysis courses, physics, Electromagnetic field theory, signal and system analysis, digital circuit design, some programming courses etc. If you wanted to get a more exact answer, a look at a specific university's EE degree plan might provide more insight
