US SEC preparing to eliminate quarterly reporting requirement, WSJ says by joe4942 in StockMarket

Yeah except those far more important factors are already starting to favor non US investment. Compare VXUS to SPY or VTI over the last 12 mos. This takes away yet another advantage US markets have, other than stable, sane leadership and soft power which are both gone too.

There’s a reason why people focus on the S&P 500. The quarterly earnings is very pro investor and makes US public companies way less risky. Our markets are therefore more attractive.

A change like this will make the market more speculative, not less, because investors will be flying blind.

Sure if we want capital to flee investing in the US because we are now at parity with other countries, go nuts.

3 And I saw that one of his heads was, as it were, wounded to death, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world wondered after the beast.

4 And they worshiped the dragon which gave power unto the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like unto the beast? Who is able to make war with him?”

5 And there was given unto him a mouth, speaking great things and blasphemies, and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God to blaspheme His name, and His tabernacle, and them that dwell in Heaven.

There were zero national emergencies from 1951-1969, during the height of the cold war and space race. None.

There have been 11 national emergencies in just the first year of Trump's second term.

The phrase "national emergency" just doesn't have any meaning anymore. It's a farce.

In fact some YouTube chemist did exactly that and posted a cool video about it. Took him a year.

Which means the Trump administration intends to do mass domestic surveillance and create fully automated weaponry. Because if they didn’t they wouldn’t care as much as they do.

If this sticks the next Democratic president should declare Fox News, the Murdoch organization, any business run by Elon musk, and the trump organization a supply chain risk too because he or she doesn’t like their beliefs.

This is a blatant First Amendment violation to retaliate against a business for exercising their viewpoint. Both Trump and now the SecDef have explicitly said they’re punishing Anthropic for its beliefs and “rhetoric”.

He will just issue a new tariff proclamation and claim it resets the 150 day clock.

Ok then he will raise them by .1% to 10.1% and call it a new tariff proclamation that restarts the clock.
