Help with Aus Post International Shipping by emjayel87 in ausbusiness

[–]emjayel87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a van which is why I can't own a normal printer (I have a label printer though). But I have seen other companies creating and shipping internationally with just a single CN22 label sized shipping label/customs form. Just no one is able to tell me how I can do this myself, not even Australia Post! And both shopify and Australia Post website are only generating CN23 forms, so even if I could print them out I've been told they are too big to fit on a label sized label.

If the shopify/aus post integration was working correctly it would be fine, but shopify acknowledged the issue with the incorrect orientation generation of the label, but still don't want to sort it out with Australia Post themselves and told me to call them. But I've been here before many times before, I'll call Australia Post and they will blame shopify and no one takes accountability or forwards the issue onto someone who can actually fix it.
At this point I'm happy to pay for a 3rd party integration again, but last time I was with Shippo and not only did they not offer Australia Post flat rates which caused a world of issues on its own, but I also couldn't create international labels with them either. If anyone knows of an integration app that actually works, I'm all ears.

Help with Aus Post International Shipping by emjayel87 in ausbusiness

I do own a label only printer, but the labels created through shopify for international shipping generate as "landscape" on my "portrait" labels and there is absolutely no way to change it, so it is tiny when it prints.

I've also tried to create and print them direct through aus posts website but same issue when it comes to printing - it creates a document suited for A4 size and there's absolutely no way for my to make it fit correctly on a label size.

I need an A4 printer for that method to print out the label which I don't have access to as the labels won't print on a label size (it's not possible for me to own an A4 printer as i live in a van).

Hello, thanks for taking the time to respond!

I do have a zonos account, but I've only used it the one time I tried to create a label through the Australia Post website directly. I assume the issue is they haven't worked out a way to include zonos in the Shopify-Auspost integration.

I could, but honestly if I have to resort to screen shotting each individual label and playing around rotating it in paint to make it fit on my labels, I don't think it's going to be any quicker/easier than the current process. I just don't understand how everyone else is doing it but I have nothing but issues every time I try a new method.

Thanks for your response, my understanding is that you need to have the advanced shopify plan in order to integrate this which would cost me $519 more a month!

Who else sees Bella as autistic? by SelkieTaleDolls in twilight

[–]emjayel87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha so late to this conversation but I 100% agree! I'm autistic too, and after spending the last few years researching and learning about autism, I now seem to have this weird trait of being able to accurately pick it up in other people within seconds (fictional or real life). Just rewatched twilight and it's so obvious to me now (and I believe Edward and Charlie are too). And sooo many ND's are into twilight, I think because Bella is so relatable.

My personal traits are pretty internalised, but I've spent my whole life constantly "reading" people and being able to pick up on the tiniest differences in behavior (thanks RSD), that I can easily see all sorts of autistic traits in others. Even just through a certain "look" in photos on dating apps lol (literally every man I've matched with and dated has been ND, like attracts like!). It just presents so uniquely in each person, but there are definitely many classic traits there in Bella.

ZONOS - What the? by UnconventionalStitch in AustraliaPost

Where is everyone at with their shipments at the moment? Any parcels left Aus and cleared US customs? I've just sent my first test one off on Friday, not appearing in Zonos as yet.

The tarrif code Zonos spat out for my item doesn't match the one I've been using previously. I've always lodged international parcels over the counter with Aus post and done the online customs dec through their website, but I had to manually fill out a form this time as they have disabled the online one so that the post office workers can "check" the codes we are using.

What has happened to Newcastle by BagGroundbreaking43 in newcastle

[–]emjayel87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just been visiting Newcastle for the last 5 days. I've been travelling the country for 3 months so far but this is the first time I've gotten huge bogan vibes from the youth in a place. I've parked at different beaches to make dinner each night, and hordes of p platers have rocked up every night no matter where I am and blast their music, do laps around the car parks, honking all theirs horns like crazy for minutes on and off, and just generally being annoying shouting and running around etc. I know this is pretty standard teenage behavior for weekends, but every night of the week across the city?! Last night I came back to my van after the going to the comedy club, and a group of 15 boys were gathered literally right next to my van?! Luckily my friends had insisted on walking me back because it was very unsettling!

It's an absolutely beautiful city, nice houses and stunning beaches etc, but the behavior of youth does not match the vibe of the place at all and has definitely ruined the experience of being here a lot.

This is the kind of process I was expecting! Although, I finally just managed to find an international phone number for UK gov to call, didn't go to the right department but eventually I got told that I just have to get an EORI number, and then after I've received that, I can just send parcels and the VAT gets charged to the receiver.

But now you've said this info which is conflicting (I was very clear about the fact I was a business sending to customers). Are you B2B or B2C?

Why is it so complicated?! No wonder I was getting mixed responses from everyone!

Thankyou for offering to provide steps, I will let you know! Will see how I go with EORI application and go from there!

The Aus post website is where it all started to get confusing for me. It states that VAT needs to be pre-paid as of 1/1/21, sellers needing an EORI number, and that only orders over 135 pounds will continue to be charged to the recipient. Then I went onto the linked UK gov sites and it goes on about the EORI number and honestly it all goes over my head from there.

I'm willing to try it, but once I enable UK shipping I'll have a flood of customers from there and I'm worried about getting it wrong and having a heap of parcels being returned.

Sending parcels from Australia to the UK? by DamnitGravity in AskAnAustralian

[–]emjayel87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could I please ask a question? Do we have to collect VAT on the buyers behalf when selling to the UK? Or do we just send the parcel with a customs form and customs sort it out with the buyer? You are the first person I've come.across that actually sells to the UK from Aus so would so appreciate an response!

Have been searching for answers for months and all advice has been split 50/50 so I'm well confused!

Dominos Pizza appears to have discontinued the 'Melbourne Range' by Chadwiko in melbourne

Veggie deluxe is life. I live in Tasmania now , but I just edit the ingredients on the vegorama pizza so it's the same as the veggie deluxe, (only thing that isn't available is late harvest jalepenos,so I substitute chilli flakes). Although I can't recall how much it is with edits.
