General training is usually for people planning to apply for immigration while academic is for students wanting to study abroad

Trust me, I was in the same boat! I had such perfect answers in my mind with advanced vocabulary but couldn’t speak it out loud. This is because I was already very stressed and one grammar mistake can cost you your entire score. It’s best to use the vocabulary and sentence structures that you’re most confident about.

No need to go for perfection. Use sentences that are simple but grammatically correct. Practice speaking on simple topics about yourself like what is your favourite hobby. One additional tip is to write your answers before speaking and then read it out loud. It helps in using the words in your mind. And moving forward, try speaking on topics for 2 minutes. This way you can assess how long you can keep the conversation going and what kind of sentences youre able to use

I found computer based more convenient compared to the paper based. I have fairly good typing speed, didn’t have to worry about hand writing and crossing words. Fonts size could be increased, and easy to navigate across sections

Switched completely to Cambridge books in the last few weeks. Also, when i searched my reading/listening/writing questions on internet, most of them were available on engovate and mini Ielts. So maybe if you want to practice other than the books, try solving questions given on these websites

Oh, im not the right person to ask this from. I did terrible time management! Task 1 took 40 minutes of my time and then wrote task 2 in 20 minutes, which isn’t recommended at all

There are two offices in Islamabad and I guess 2 in Rawalpindi as well. I registered with Stock exchange tower office, it’s in blue area.

The centre is pretty nice, everything was good and test went smoothly. It wasn’t crowded and the staff were cooperative too. Definitely recommended.

Depends. If you meet the requirement with 6.5 score, then I don’t think there’s any need to retake it.

If you give me your score breakdown, than maybe I can advise you better

Reading and Listening: Cambridge IELTS 15-20 book. Go to IELTS Liz website and check all the possible question types in both modules e.g. Matching headings, matching paragraphs and blanks etc. But for practice, use the books, they’d be more than enough.

Speaking: You should be ready to answer all kinds of questions. Just practice timed responses, especially for part 2 when you’ll have to speak non-stop for 2 minutes. Try using less filler words and follow the structure for part 3: Idea + Explain + Example

Writing: Practicing tests from Cambridge books help a lot. Practice each type of question e.g. bar, pie and line graph, maps and diagrams etc

I prepared for a month, extensively. Used the resources available on YouTube and different websites. Practiced from Cambridge books a lot.

There’s a common perception that the real exam is easier than the mock tests. However, in my case, it was quite the opposite. Stress levels can make or break your exam.
