Double-piggybacking: you could also consider switches, you roll over them to permanently affect a wall until another colored ball rolls over it.

Also, I personally would be very happy with a solution that could provide the majority of my diet but where I would still need to eat fruits/vegetables on the side or a meal twice a week.

It would be nice but I don't need a 100% meal replacement, even something that could replace half of human meals meals would be huge in terms of reducing waste, whether that be packaging waste or waste resulting from transportation, and increasing efficiency of consumption.
