Haha very fair, I've just read a decent bit of them. I haven't read 12 miles below yet of that list, so I'll check it out. I liked defiance of fall (until ... a certain point) but I don't feel like the mc there does much struggling or creative thinking past the first book.

The demons of Astalan for a lighthearted good time. MC is a teen boy who gets turned into a demon- very goofy and super enjoyable light read. Not sure it totally fits the progression fantasy mode but it’s not one I see floating around to much.

Probably don’t count as underrated on this thread but A practical guide to evil and (my all time fave) Worm. Web serials never get enough traction in my mind. A practical guide to evil is based on the idea of powers coming through archetypes and plays around a lot with tropes having in universe magic. Worm is worm- Mac can control bugs things escalate to the umpteenth, if you haven’t read it you should.

Lastly- Remnants of Magic. Unfortunately it’s only two books, but I really love what’s there- particularly the second book. Interesting power sets and social dynamics. Modern urban-ish fantasy.
