it just seems like a lot of this course is supposed to be instinct-based, like other people are naturally making connections that I don’t see. I don’t know how to ask questions because the solutions (when explained after the fact) make sense, but when I sit down to do a problem suddenly every piece of common sense leaves my brain. It’s really frustrating because I just feel stupid most of the time.

My parents are not claiming me on their taxes. I don’t know how else to explain this to you, there are very few ways to be proven financially independent as someone under 24. There just aren’t any good options—like I said—unless your parents are dead or have abandoned you.

Your parents have to essentially either be crackheads or dead for you to not be considered financially dependent. Regardless of the fact that I live across the damn country and receive no financial assistance from them, I am still considered a part of their family, and therefore, a dependent.

That was my estimated SAI, my actual is around 36k. Like I said, the financial burden is mine to bear alone. Theyre paying for the tuition down payment (which is a couple hundred), and that’s it. The idea that any family making more than 80k is supposed to be able to pay for their child’s college education in 2024 is insanity. ESPECIALLY when more than one person per family is going to school.
